Rear leaf spring Question 74 Dart

-
Somebody with more 15 inch wheel experience should speak up, but I'm pretty sure you won't get 7 inch wide wheels into a hardtop without moving the leaf springs in. The Torq Thrusts would be bitchin' - a vintage wheel that fits the car! The other thing you might consider is a set of Magnum 500 road wheels. Chrysler offered then that year though not on that car. Below is a picture of my old 74 Dart with a set on.

I would be happy with the Magnum 500 rims. are those 14 or 15" what size tire are on them?

I have on the car currently E78/14 tires. According to this chart I can run either 195/75/14 or 205/70/14 without any problems???????

A 15x7” with the proper backspace for the axle you have works great. The backspace IS different for 8 3/4’s vs 8.25’s and 7.25’s to max tire size though. Some have even managed to get 255/60/15’s on their hard tops with the spring in the stock location. That’s unusual, it’s much more typical for a 245/60/15 to be the max on a 15x7 with the stock spring locations. There are always exceptions, but a 245 is usually a pretty good bet if the backspace is correct.

@toolmanmike has 255’s on his hardtop Dart

That's a good looking car! I like it alot. That's the same color as mine was originally. I believe a factory 15x7 will fit just cant run a super wide tire I think 235 or 245 are about max hopefully someone will speak up and let us know I will be able to tell you soon. I'm about to finish up my rearend and start test fitting it.
