Rear Lift for 69 Dart

I've tried three (3) sets of air shocks and they keep either blowing out or will not stay up- Just wanting about 2"-3" of rise in the rear of my pretty stock Dart Swinger- Thought about coil-over shocks but some say they will rip out- any thoughts?

Ok.......

1st. Shocks are not for holding a car up. Shocks are for controlling springs.

Companies like this sell springs that are stock, 1" over or 2" over stock.

If you want your car higher in back, you need new springs to do it correctly.

The above answers are correct, but that hasn't stopped lots of folks, including myself, from taking a shortcut. My son's Dart has cheap coil-over springs (about $35 at the local parts store). We had to modify the install procedure, but they've been holding the car up for nearly ten years now. Preferably different springs or front hangers would be used, but sometimes the preferable isn't done. Most of us have also used air shocks at one time or another, too...............
