Recommendation for non wifi, recording security camera

Could be worse. For some reason somebody throws baby diapers in the ditch in front of my house. Its happened three times so it cant be random. The smell can gag a maggot when you hit them with a lawnmower.

Go to the local liquor stores and ask them to decribe the person buying that brand of beverage.

Have the cash register person say: "Please Don't Litter" at the time of sale. Would be fun to see the purchaser's reaction to that.

Classic Brother! Or even better" watch out where ya put the empty ones"!

It's not an argument..not all cameras require that much power. It can be done with much lower power requirements. As you point out though the signal is important.. ubiquity makes a nice point to point solution that's low power.
Oh No Man, I AIN'T arguin with Ya. I'm not a security guy, so I don't know anything, other than what I've installed. Hope I did not come across that way

For that application, a trail camera is perfect. Not a lot of traffic to continually set it off, and only needs to be in place for a few days, until you catch your bogey. WalMart will be fine to get one.

Twas me.....homemade spike strip. Put it out at night and take it in morning. Gotta be wary of ups/amazon deliveries.
Also trail cam to capture the oh **** moment.

Are there "no trespassing" signs?

It's not so rural that there is zero traffic, or that kids would post up there to drink. I'm pretty confident it's some asshole driving by and tossing them out of a moving vehicle.

I wish I could pop thier tires, believe me lol but it's just the end of a driveway, not a big pull off.

Have local law enforcement stop by and dust the bottles for fingerprints. There might be a match in their system.
Wonder if they would laugh at me for such a request! That's a good thought...hmm...may make a call tomorrow.

Don't call, walk in there (if your still local)
Small town right?

You may rub into someone you know who'd be willing to help

Of course, you might also run into a deputy sipping on a twisted tea

I agree a fairly high resolution trail cam is probably the right choice.

You really can't read license plates with a video security camera unless it's bleeding edge state of the art and $$$$.

...but you can with a hi res still cam.

Perhaps one that can be set to take a series of 3-5 pics in rapid succession.
