Red Headed Stepchild-75 Swinger LSX Swap

That has been a solid solution on many high hp turbo LS builds for a dropped crank signal during a run. You should be pretty happy with it.

Given the issues I was having on the dyno and during hard acceleration on the street I have been suspecting that the reluctor wheel on the crankshaft had moved enough to cause the error during heavy load. So I reached out to holley and they had me shut the cam sensor off in an attempt to eliminate that sensor as being faulty. The problem continued. So I ended up ordering the msd 8623 flying external crank trigger and have gotten it installed I just need to set the pointer, sensor on the falling edge and set TDC so I can dial it in make the changes to the software and go out and test it to see if it fixes the problem. Stand by for updates, because if it fixes it maybe I can finally go racing.

It's like the Space X build of an LS very cool.

Well its been a little bit. Been battling and talking and fighting with the holley/msd folk about this 8623 external crank trigger. They swore uo and down that it had to be the way their directions said. Except that plan didn't work for 2 straight weeks. After double and triple checking everything I did, I decided to make an educated guess and change something in the holley software and low and behold it worked. She's fired back up and running. Chasing a vapor lock issue right now and then I'll be making some passes hopefully before the weather catches up.

First car show back out next weekend is ready to go.

Unfortunately due to the wildfires up here we didn't make the show. Too many warnings of evacuations. But with the issues the car has given me, holley is going to be paying to ship it back to them for testing. Fingers crossed they find whatever is going on, and I can get it back going for the last race of the year at Gaptoberfest.

With a year that started with a lot of excitement and anticipation it's been pretty rough regarding the dart. Byt after all this chasing my tail and redoing things and testing stuff here, I finally sent the exu back to holley and it failed their bench testing on the digital input side. Which mean either a. the 58x4x ecu and harness didn't work on the 24x1x engine with the changes they recommended, or b. It somehow got fried when I got the travel limiters on even though battery and everything was disconnected.

Fortunately enough there is still hope. I have a new, engine correct 24x1x ecu and harness o. The way from summit and it should be here tomorrow or Thursday. And with any luck I'll get it swapped put and tested and maybe make the race the Saturday in Yakima.

They've also done a great job on the wildfire. Good enough to make me feel comfortable unloading the Camaro and Dart out of the trailer so I can do this swap and test her out. Ignore the shed mess in the back. Currently doing the floor in there and needed everything out till I finished.

Well I got thr new engine harness and ecu installed this past Saturday. Ended up taking it out on Sunday the chevy dealer about 25 minutes away and then saw a cool mural on the way home and took some pictures.

Didn't have any issues with her on the whole drive So im pretty happy with that.

On a side note someone has approached me with an offer to trade for my dream car, and I may take him up on his offer. Stay tuned for any possibly change in ownership.

What's your dream car???
It's a 69 Camaro. I'll get **** for it I know. We're working on details. But an even swap on something this nice is a pretty sweet deal for me, and it helps him out as well. People are gon a say everyone has a bbc 69 SS but with life going how it's going, kids in high-school and college coming up shortly, the never ending cost of upgrades to try and stay competitive in small tire racing, especially when you have a 3500lb street car is insane. I don't have the bank account all these other guys do to compete.

This gets a very well setup car to get into some bracket racing to have fun while not spending absurd amounts to compete, and also keeps me from stripping the dart down and turning it specifically into a drag only car to make it light enough to hang in there. The camaro is already that way and I can add a passenger seat if I ever want to do some drag and drive events(yes even with the funny car cage).

It also helps the gentleman I'm talking to about the car because he needs the creature comforts the dart offers with his reduced mobility. So it keeps him enjoying a hobby he isnt ready to give up yet.

Fingers crossed they stay on track for delivery of the camaro tomorrow. He got the dart 2 days ago and loves the dart.

The deal is done. They received the Dart last week and love it. Yesterday I received the Camaro and its every bit as awesome as they said it was. I wish John and Derek the best of luck on their plan with the Dart and I wish you all nothing but success with your builds. Thank you all very much. She went straight and true Sunday for its first part throttle outing. I've been doing plenty of small touches to it. Excited about where it's gonna go.

I see the Dart ....for sale on facebook. asking $50K
He's added some stuff to it since he got it from me. I had it posted for 46k. The traction co trol and everhtbu g thing else he had added since he got it from me definitely accounts for the price change.
