A friend of mines dad ran a station almost identical to this up the street from where I grew up as a kid. The building is still there. It's a convenience store now.

Located in Bedford PA. This one was still in operation the last time I was up that way. I believe it's still in operation.

That wagon in the pic looks like it has a different tailamp area than the trademark ford round one. Looks like it has a small fin :coffee2:

I used to work at a SOHIO gas station in like 1972-1973 and this is a shirt from those GOOD times when I worked there. My boss was a great guy. I remember having to tell people we could only sell them a few gallons because of gas rationing at one point while working there.
The shirt was then used by a girl scout troop with my girls to do a project after that, hence the drawing on it. LOL

Sorry though, I don't know how to upload a picture off the net so I had to copy and paste an address to station pictures.

Wow, now that shirt has some history! Cool that you kept it after all these years. I worked at a Texaco when I was in high school. It was the "cool" station in town because the owner was a race car owner / driver. He let me use the rack whenever i wanted to work on my car. I had a 67 Firebird at the time, the same model my boss raced. Wish I still had my Texaco shirt.

Here's the last pic from HIPOVALIANT's post #34...

And here's what the same station looks like today...

It's located right on Route 66 (Foothill Blvd.) in Rancho Cucamonga (SoCal), not too far from where our Inland Mopars Car Club holds our monthly business meetings.
There are still a couple of old gas station buildings here in Orange County. I'll try to get out and get some pics of them.

Outstanding thread!

Indeed, awesome thread!

I can't believe that old station is sitting there empty like that. I would love to own it, and restore it to a nostalgic old service station. It would definately be a popular destination.

44070dart and 68coupe... thanks I'm thinking its a Mercury now and the wood panel sides look correct for a Ford or Merc... I can now go to sleep at night ( stupid pole )

Great threat we need some more old stations pics... I'm looking through the old albums
