Removing door crash beams 74 Dart Sport

Hi has anyone removed door crash beams?How did you go about it?Looks like it would have to come out in 4 sections?Thanks

With the door off the car I drill the spot welds at one end then cut a door in the other end and pull the crash bar out in one peice. I then weld the ends back up do a little body work and paint. I strip the undercoat off the inside of the doors also.

Would it be possible to section them out without cutting the door open to remove them?Looks tight in there.Thanks for the reply

It's just how I've done it, it's simple enough to do.

Just went for it.1st door 1 1/2 hours and 3 3" cutting discs.I angle and 1 straight grinder.1 more door to go.

Just weighed them up.Roughly 30lbs for both sides.

I took a 2.5" hole saw to the inside of the door on my Fbody under the interior panel, removed the crash bar and stripped the undercoat and removed just under 30lbs from each door.

Ya I bought fiberglass bumpers And lingenfelters brackets for front and rear.Thats a huge weight saver

Yes I believe 73 and up.

Yes definitely.You need all the room you can get in there.
