Have a 1970 Dart with SBP wheels and completely stock. I have been reading for days to come up with the right combination of wheel and tire.

Let me preface this by saying I would like to keep my SBP if possible. I also eventually plan on converting my front drum brakes to disc.

From what I can tell this combo will work.

Front: 15x6 with 215/60
Back: 15x7 with 235/60

With a Rallye wheel, that would give me a 4" backspace on the front, and a 4.25" backspace on the back. I also believe this wheel would have no problem with an SSBC disc conversion on the front.

The problem is, I would prefer Cragars with the same size tires, but the backspace is less than the Rallyes and I am not sure if the same combo will fit, or will accept the SSBC brakes.

The Cragar 15x6 only has a 3.375" backspace, and the 15x7 has a 4.125 backspace.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

So assuming I keep my drum brakes, will the Cragars fit with this backspace and tire size??

Front: 15x6 with 215/60
Back: 15x7 with 235/60

The Cragar 15x6 only has a 3.375" backspace, and the 15x7 has a 4.125 backspace.

Thanks!

I have 15x7's on the rear with a 4.25 backspace ans 255-60's. They are tight but no rub with a slightly higher lift spring.

Thanks for the reply!

So as far as the rear goes, since I am going with a smaller tire, and 4.125 is very close to 4.25 a 15x7 with 235/60 should fit no problem.

Now for the front.

The difference in backspace on the 15x6 between the Rallye and the Cragar is a lot with the Rallye at 4 and the Crager at 3.375. I have read that some people have managed to stuff a 225/60 under the front, but that is with more than 3.375 backspace. I am still not sure about the 15x6.

I just don't want to spend 600 bucks on rims that might not fit. Especially since wheels cannot usually be returned. Not to mention the return shipping costs.

Thanks!

So I have been obsessing over this for days, and the more I read I realize that 3.375 backspace on the front with a 15x7 wheel just isn't going to work.

New plan/idea:

Running all four wheels at 15x7 which would give me a 4.125 backspace all around.
