Just got my new SCAT superlight crank. This is an RB crank with 4.250 stroke and 8 bolt flange. It weighs 64 lbs which is about 5 or 6 lbs lighter than usual. Nice looking crank, I like the extra features on the superlight version.
Andy, pretty sure my Molnar 4.250LD crank weight same as my 360SB 4.00 Eagle crank which was 63# and the Molnar is not considered light weight. Different alloys between Scat and Molnar?Just got my new SCAT superlight crank. This is an RB crank with 4.250 stroke and 8 bolt flange. It weighs 64 lbs which is about 5 or 6 lbs lighter than usual. Cool. Do they make a 6 bolt version? Is there a HP rating on it?
WOW !!SCAT makes the superlight crank in lots of different configurations. 6 bolt or 8 bolt and different strokes. I had a SCAT superlight in the low deck 470 engine that I just sold. That one was lighter than this one since it had extra machine work. The 470 crank was gun drilled down the center and the rear flange was profile machined.

Andy , whose rear main seal cap is that , or did u make it ??
Probably a Mancini rear main seal cap but I'm not positive. The engine shop I work with does a lot of Mopar stroker motors these days and sometimes I lose track of which parts end up on which build.
I tried one of hughs engines main seal caps, couldn`t make it work w/ the studs no matter what I did. They told me I must have something weird. I told them I put the orig back on , no problems. They did reimburse my $ , good people as far as I`m concerned. Only thing is, their shipping charges are way to high.
4.5 bore 4.5 crank , u gonna need some big tires !!putting a big rb wedge together 4.5 bryant crank , still seeing which bore i can go . its a 78 casting hm ind block , so i can bore it 4.4 if it cleans up at that . why molnar's rods and not carrillo's rods . thought they were better .
