It's that time of year again and it's Shark Week on the Discovery Channel. I'm presently listening to interview with a woman who was munched on and survived......holy crap! They actually are showing real video of this woman being attacked!

I'll say this, sharks freak me out. I know the Great White is the biggest and baddest, but for some reason, Hammerheads really get to me..... They're just so dang freaked out looking. Anyone have any shark stories?

About a year ago there was a monster Hammerhead caught in Tampa Bay from somebodys dock, I think it was 1600lbs, turnes out it was pregnant and full of pups. :angry7: Tampa Bay used to be in the top 5 in shark population.
I was watching a show a couple weeks ago that said the Bull shark is the most dangerous to humans. They have been found hundreds of miles up the Mississippi.
Cue JAWS theme. :-D

I herd about the sharks coming up the Mississippi river just a couple months ago.

No shark stories here ramcharger :-D But I have seen some crazy shtuff on the history channel and on a sports channel. I think miky D's fish sandwich is mainly shark though :read2:

Dang! That is one big hammerhead! I sure wouldn't want to meet that sucker while out for a swim, yikes!

Later on last night they had a show on "Called Summer of the Sharks" and were documenting all the shark attacks in 2001. It was brutal what happened to some of these people. Like you say, most of these attacks were by Bull Sharks and they added in that the Bull Shark has more testosterone coursing through it's body than any animal on the planet.

One thing I didn't understand is that there was a surfing contest for teenagers and people kept getting bit one after the other requiring stitches but they wouldn't call off the contest. Finally, one girl gets munched bad, really bad but survives. What were these people thinking? It's well known that a surfer on a longboard looks like a seal from the sharks point of view. It would be like having a cross-country run through grizzly country while wearing an elk coat. :?

I've heard about that too Mike.

Mickey D's fish sandwich is shark? I'm going to buy a couple, lol. Turnabout is fair play. :-D

LMAO :-D That would be the only way I could show them who is at the top of the food chain :-D

I have been watching shark week too. There was one about people who survived attacks. The pics of some of them people were gnaly. I don't know how they made it.

I use to go deep sea fishing on a small boat. Every now and then we would jump over the side and swim around the boat. One time we were out there and this shark comes and swimes around the boat looking for some fish. It was BIG! I don't know what kind of shark it was but it was big enough for me to never go swiming around the boat again.

The best line from the movie "JAWS" was Sheriff Brody's, "We need a bigger boat".

Thought I saw my ex on the show last night... she was looking pretty good! :)

LMBO!
I was just getting ready to warn everyone about the ex lurking in the waters around Bradenton! Maneater (not the man just his money!)
Our family used to go to Myrtle to surf and it always seemed to me the best times to surf were early & late when everyone is gone and the waves are clean & crisp. Too bad thats feeding time! It always freaks me to wait on the next set!!!!

Is that what you're doing for fun now, Ramcharger?
Thanks but no, I'll stick to bowling! LOL

I'll try almost anything but I think that one's out of the question. :-D LMAO!

I think I would came out of the water and onto the deck like a dolphin. :-D There was one group of people who had picked out a bay off of a remote island to go swimming in that was once used as a meat processing plant dump. Talk about a bad choice. :-D

Maybe mine,
right when waking before coffee & cig.....................Close,
but this pic a little nicer and more caring looking than her!:-D:-D:-D

I once had an up close and personal experience with a shark about 90 feet down off of Islamorada, FL. Pucker factor was off the chart. The sucker just circled us in an ever widening, climbing spiral. Almost found out if it is possible to crap your pants in a wetsuit.

Wow! That's way too close for comfort.:shock: I can't imagine how scary it would be that far and deep and from safety.

Thank God all we have here is fresh water, don't care much for sharks! :-D:-D

Fresh water is just fine for me too. I like my position at the top of the food chain. :-D Unless I'm running around in grizzly country wearing an elk coat, lol.
