She hasn’t Divorced me yet!

Convertibles tend to get driven more than cars with roofs... Especially on nice days... Funny I invite lots of folks to join me for cruises... But it's surprising how often 75% or more of the cars that show up are ragtops... On this day we had seven cars show up... And every one was a convertible... Sorry only five in the picture...

I used to drive my 68 GT convertible all the time, then I bought my Harley and sold the Dart. My mistake, the first time I got drenched and realized I could have just put the top up...LOL

Well. Convertible life is really a thing. This is great.

Took it to get the state inspection and registered. Came out of the dmv to a dart parked next to me, hole was taking pictures of his kids posed with the convertible. Nice guy.

Then me and rooster went the long way home.

The car runs fantastic and holy cow the transmission shifts so nicely. I’ve never had the purple car shift this nicely. Top down life is amazing. The only complaint I have is the brakes, they don’t work as well as the 4 wheel disc brakes on the purple car, not saying they are bad but they aren’t as good.

I need some license plate frames now

NOOO! Not brakes again!!

ROOSTER?

Is the purple manual or power brakes.

Manual takes a little getting used to. But notice the brake pedal is 2 feet wide for a reason

Purple car is manual brakes, the 4 wheel disc works great. These brakes kind of pulsating brake pedal when you press them a little harder.

NOOO! Not brakes again!!

Oh no, I have the perfect way to do it…. Only install the DrDiff kit with front calipers that can go on either side

That’s sweet! This is the first true convertible I’ve ever had. I had 2 Jeep JKU rubicons and only drove with the bikini top on or no top but this is 100% different.

Oh also the car needs a radio… well it has a radio but I need this radio, and a speaker… it will be so much cleaner than toting my Bluetooth speaker all around.

Stick with the stock AM and get an fm converter. It plugs into the antenna. And a dc power source.

Can't hear much in a convert with the top down

They have those retro sound radios that look almost stock. Add an amp to it and dash speaker, kick panels speakers, under seat speakers and a big bass speaker in the spare tire well. You will not hear the car anymore. lol 2 speakers on the rear seats in the corner of the seats also and when the car shakes at the traffic light it will not be the cam! lol

I do have an under dash 8 track also. I don’t remember for sure if I still have the chrome under dash 45 record player?

My convertible has been done so long, the state of the art AM-FM cassette radio I put in it is an antique....lol. Nobody had ever heard of a CD player in those days. I've had it on maybe 5 times since I finished the car. :realcrazy:

Oh man, my life is ruined. How will I ever go back to driving a hard top? I’m serious, once you drive a convertible you get a whole new feel. The car isn’t overly loud like the purple car either so it’s easy to drive, listen to music in the background (JBL Bluetooth speaker currently) and have a conversation without feeling like you’re yelling.

I’ve had 3 people come up to me today to comment on the car and talk about the car.

First time going out with the whole family to get snowcones.

Those pictures are great. Really glad you like the car. I miss it already but is nice to see it out and about.

I promise to take care of it for you. All my kids are already trying to lay claim to it, saying they get it, but it will be the wife’s if she wants it. We will probably have more than 100 miles on it before the end of the month.

That should be by the end of the weekend...

We are probably getting to the 50-60 mile range. I live in a small area, about 6 miles into town and I don’t drive in the the bigger city Springfield very often. Even that’s only 13 miles.

You need a good destination... I don't think Joplin is gonna cut it.... Maybe the Lake of the Ozarks? Or Eureka Springs? Warrensburg? Pick a place & go.... What's nearby on Route 66?

Yeah that’s easier said than done with 3 kids a business and a pregnant wife. This was my morning before coming home to clean on the shop. I was milling crowns and printing dentures and an implant denture.

Something you will have to get used to ...

People talking to you at stoplights

For some reason with the top down your fair game for a conversation:lol:
