I'm building my first performance street engine for my 69 Valiant. It's a 360 stroked to 408, 40 over bore, I beam Scat rods, Scat Crank, Edelbrock 340 Performer heads and intake, Crane cam and rocker assembly, and I need to finish it off with a nice set of valve covers and air cleaner. Any suggestions and picks? Not sure if I want to have brand named valve covers, chrome or finned aluminum, polished mat or crinkle black, polish mat or flat intake.... Love to see some engines and maybe some suggestions on where to get parts.

Thanks
Kevin

I'm going old school Cal custom finned with matching "accessories".

really like the finned retro covers or matted chrome mopar performance valve covers. Definitely going to go with '69 340 turquoise like bad440.

Here's my 'Ole 340 in all it's filthy glory ...:D (Yes, the black rattle can job was done by a previous owner LOL)

Pat

Just finished up giving my engine a make over. Sent my intake and Valve covers out to a local powder coating shop. They used semi-gloss black and Mirror blue. I think it came out pretty nice. I also had them powdercoat the timing cover, alternator housing and all engine brackets. Then went with a Billet under drive pulley system from CVF Racing and their Billet alternator bracket. Used por-15 engine enamel to paint it and added a few other dress up parts.
Hope to get it back in within the next couple weeks.

Direct Connection valve covers, painted LD-340 intake, and home-baked fresh air assembly.

tell me more about your fresh air intake... you fabbed that up your self? Looks pretty trick. I have a six pack bolt on fiberglass hood that a set up like that would make a great ram air set up. What are the parts from?
