you can crutch the exhaust with acam
and not just the next size bigger lobe
not so the intake

this is true Rumble a lot to be gained here but my test @273 CFM was done with only the pinch area polished and these numbers are unattainable by a chevy casting of the same vintage. with the pinch cut out *** much as posible without any mods i have gotten 280 CFM these are very similar numbers to other members that have done there own testing and it would take major surgical work to make a chevy make this kind of number. (I didnt get the idea you were arguing the comparison with chevy, its stated for other readers)The intake port is indeed hampered by the pushrod pinch. Not so much with the other manufacturers. That is also why the W series heads do so well. A seriously reduced pushrod pinch.
This is also true. I have 2 points to make here first the video would lead some people to believe that the exhaust port is so good there is no need for a header, If your goal is to get what you can out of factory pieces good exhaust ports does not leave you a choice here HEADER will always make better power across the board. So the mention is made cause the mopar needs more help in this area. The second point witch the vid states is small block really react to simple mods. Part of the reason here is because of the poor exhaust port, with a good intake and out of balance exhaust like a J casting the header do more the moving the exhaust helps the balance witch make a larger difference because it allows the intake to do more work. Dyno test can prove it. Some one stated in a comment on the vid that he was right cause he had was talking to a old school engine builder and he stated work exhaust first cause if you cant get it out the you cant get it in...I work the other way if you cant get it in witch is what the engine is using to make power then there is nothing to get out. BUT there must be a acceptable balance and SBM does that.Be the exhaust port good or bad, headers make a difference on any engine with any head over exhaust manifolds. Valve size, angle, placement, port cross sectional area, etc... play a huge part in its performance.
No i do not but i dont agree with you either. the port is not garbage but it is poor in my way of thinking. there are worse.Im fine with discussing the exhaust.
Do you agree with UT in his assessment of the exhaust port?
FWIW, I don’t. The port is garbage. If it wasn’t, Chrysler wouldn’t have upgraded it on the W2 head. Trick Flow wouldn’t have decreased the valve size (1.6 is too big if the port isn’t junk) and reshaped the port if it was as good as he thinks.
His method of showing flow with a MAP gas torch is a poor example of what actually happens when the exhaust valve opens. It can’t duplicate the pressure waves or much else.

the map gas example is a garbage not poor
Just curious of what you'd prefer. Speaking of stock 318 2bbl engine, per say for conversation, in a '87 Diplomat. Would you prefer a 4bbl installed replacing the 2bbl all else remains unchanged or headers with 2.5 duals replacing the single exhaust/cat system? IF you could only do one of the mods to the car to lower the ET max, which would it be?. the intake is more important then the exhaust is for performance.(within reason). thats why i bring it up if it was just exhaust and that was it then leave a 2 barrel on your 318 and your good to go.
This is a (within reason) type answer to your question...I dont know witch one would be max lower ET in this case i would do the exhaust first but in my way of thinking this is 2 mods. header, dual, but i would never build this way if i was going for performance of any kind because a port cant do its job with the factory cam on intake or exhaust.Just curious of what you'd prefer. Well, headers and duals vs Carb, air cleaner and intake... Of course, we know how we'd all build. I was just thinking along the lines of your post about a 318 2bbl..... would the car move faster with the enhanced induction or enhanced exhaust ???This is a (within reason) type answer to your question...I dont know witch one would be max lower ET in this case i would do the exhaust first but in my way of thinking this is 2 mods. header, dual, but i would never build this way if i was going for performance of any kind because a port cant do its job with the factory cam on intake or exhaust.
Another Chevy troll. Have fun with this.

I'm reading that chevy heads suck while the mopar is better. Can you quote a line that leads to you to believe otherwise? My sentiment exactly.

I'm also reading where people are switching the focus to their benefit of winning an arguement that's non existent...which lends to the idea they are missing the point of the thread. Like Valve angle being one turn off..well gee that's an incorporation of the port design itself it was designed around that advantage, so its concurrent..not consecutive..and really, change it, test it, then you have founding to say wether it's all about that or not.
The point is UTG sucks , his explanations suck, Chevy sucks, and mopar rules without tweaker chain smokers making shitty videos and 100 k a year off of it.

Well uncle Tony's explanation of the mopar exhaust port is complete bullshit. This thread is built on that sentiment. Chevy still sucks.I've always heard, read and experienced stock for stock, the SBM head is superior to the SBC head. But I digress, I don't give a **** about the Chevy so it doesn't matter. They can be good engines, but that's not what I'm interested in.
There are many channels that suck.. unless you just wanna ride the shoulder of a country bumpkin who's tinkering on his car and guessing as goes along on what's this or thats affect. Commetors...Just a bunch of parrots echoing the same garbage all over the net till its accepted as truth.
Shade tree is a plenty on the net, and there is good shade tree...but way more bad than good ones. I have a channel, havent done anything with it. Seems like a waste when there are so many morons countering what you're saying based on

You made a comment about a troll and backed it up with this....NO NO NO i dont think you'll make even half way there. Are you deliberately trying to get people not to learn new things about there hobby. I dont think this thread is a chevy troll issue i suspects you are a UTG troll issue.I didn't even look at the video. I guess we all caint be all knowing and perfect like you. Maybe one day I'll get halfway there.

Did you join here just to tell me that?
Nope i joined to learn new things and thanks to this thread i have learned cool things but i got a bonus. I dont have to read yours anymore, ill learn things faster cause i can skip by your garbage.Did you join here just to tell me that?

I allways wondered how GM figured there 375 horsepower rating of there top of the line 327...those cars never seemed to run like you expect
Really! WTF? 2 big posts and there dicky ones at that!Did you join here just to tell me that?
