I know this is way off in left field, but has she tried the new glock 43? (Single stack 9mm) Not sure about the weight, but a friend of mine got one, I instantly loved it. It felt lighter and more comfortable than the PPK

She has looked at different Glocks, but it was a while ago, so probably not the 43.

One thing that is great about gun shopping with her is the clerks will empty the showcase for her and let her handle every gun in the shop.

I don't think the current owner would appreciate me telling him it's the gun that was stolen from my family. LOL

My wife carries a Springfield Arms 9mm XDM with double stack 18 round clip. Not only is she more accurate than I am, but she's dead on at 100', 10 rounds all central mass shots.
