Speedmaster valve quality

-
As for valve quality from China, I'll say not that bad. I haven't been rebuilding and building heads for very long , just about 4 years but I can say I've not seen a failure yet of just a valve.

I never said anything about sending him your own heads

Just clarifying for the readers….. I inquired on one of the head specific threads about this subject, just wasn’t sure.
I actually sent one of my sets of W5s to Ryan J back in the dark ages as he had a cnc port design for them. He had quite the stack of them before he had them cut.

It caint be too bad, can it? That's where probably 90% or more come from and we're not seeing mass failures.

Both are correct, as there are multiple benefits. 5/16 / 7mm have similar benefit (not as pronounced on flow, but great for weight). With the reduction in stregnth with 5/16 / 7mm size stems, the quality needs to be high and the geometry needs to right to avoid catastrophe...

I meant 11/32" stems. I went back and changed it. lol Some people are even going to 5/16" and 1/4" stems, but 1/4" is gettin mighty small, IMO.
I guess the seals would need to be the correct dia to match the valve stem. Do the valve guides need to be changed to match?
