Probably most of us! Hopefully smart enough not to do it more than once....How many of us have pulled something like this apart and did not have a pan handy.....just in case????

Should I assume pulling the adapter will drain the tranny?

Some fluid will drain out but not the whole transmission. If you find you need a different gear, post it here as I have quite a few and I'm sure others do too.
I don't think I have any gears in the mid 30's but I'll look.
See post #31 above. I can hear Cudamark digging through boxes as we speak. LOL
I don't have any, I think CM might be looking for you. If not either post a wanted ad here or Ebay. I looked at Brewers and they want 40 bucks for them, 16 bucks on Ebay.
Also when ordering, make sure you order the correct length shaft, yours should be a long shaft. There are short shafts as well.
I see $69 on Brewers for the red 36 tooth.

That guy doesn't have a 36 tooth gear either according to his listing.http://motors.shop.ebay.com/eBay-Mo...ON+GEAR+GEARS&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_rdc=1
Just be SURE and order the shaft type that matches yours. It should be a long shaft.
Yeah I just noticed that. That guy doesn't have a 36 tooth gear either according to his listing.
