Spring Fling 34 April 23 & 24, 2022 Van Nuys CA -info & roll call

saw it! It was all the buzz in the swap meet. I hit it and quit it even before checking out the cars this year. Good vibes Saturday, met a few FABO members. Got some deals and let the next soul have my parking spot 1/4 mile down the R/C field road. Parking always sucks here but it is what it is. Instead of parallel parking down the R/C road, we should have parked head in diagonally: 2x the parking potential and easier getting out.
BTW there's a video on instagram of a Daytona towing around Daytona on it's way to Spring Fling just taken a few hours ago.

We did pretty well selling, i don't think the swap was as big like 10 to 15 years ago, but very run very well not to big of a line to get in.

We had 197 swappers on Saturday. In 2016 for the 50th anniversary, we had 181 on Saturday.

The line was shorter because many large swappers did the early setup on Friday. So that took away 54 spots that would have normally been in line in the past. That’s 54 time 20 ft/space. Then add 6 foot parking gaps for swappers in line…1230 feet.

So the swap line should have been about 1/4 mile shorter.

The swap went all the way to the trailer parking in back.

I thought the show was kicking just like the old days. Great to see such a good turnout. The early setup Friday night is awesome really made it nicer. Was a wee bit chilly Friday night for Southern California though. Saw a lot of cool people as usual. See you on October

I got lost in the swap on Saturday and only made it to the car show as people were pulling out. Sat down with a couple swappers like Hal Hanneman and the fella with the beautiful orange Valiant and killed a couple hours just BS'ing. Met up with some Instagramers that I follow.
All in all, really disappointed in some of the prices but there were still some deals. $450 for an LD340 was surprising.

Anyone have show pictures to post?

@cpwclub Instagram is rocking’ with pictures and videos

I just made it to that one corner of the car corral. The swap was where it was at this year.

$45...TOTAL!!! I got off light this year. If those 2 $200 Centerlines with tires were SBP, I'd a walked them out too.
