Well, I got the whole top end put back together after getting the heads examined. Now I have a strange problem. When I start the old girl she fires up right away but stalls after the initial flash up. I’ve checked the fuel level and the floats are not stuck. The fuel pump appears to be working as it filled the clear fuel filter in milliseconds. I don’t think I messed up the firing order as I labeled all the plug wires and marked the distributor when it was removed. I can’t see any lonely wires and it has spark because it flashes up right away. The carb is a 750 speed demon and had no choke but that has not been an issue in the past? Any suggestions are welcome. I’ll be out in the shop scratching my head but will check back regularly.

Thanks

Check the ballast resistor? When they fail, engine will shut off after starting. Just a thought.
