Stop in for a cup of coffee

None here at the house will fit.
I really do think they made that well extra tight to make it less likely an 'unauthorized' person couldnt service it.
Bench grinder and the right angle grinders are all in south philly. I'll drive down there tommorrow.

Simpson still has repair centers, so if the mechanism itself is busted, that's an option.
I'm hoping once the glass is in place, it will be free to work.
I bet this one would work. It’s from a cheap $10 socket set I bought at Walgreens to work on kids toys. They have the thinnest walls I’ve ever seen.

Panel welded. Now grinding.
Thats the part i dont care for.
Then i will weld nails on and see if i can pull weld up.

If you're curious.
The well is about 21/64, 5/16 OD on the socket would probably have enough clearance to fit over the nut.

Funny thing though, the craftsman has a slightly larger OD than the cheap Japanese made (1970s-80s) socket.

Got a tie rod on the go cart and the 'steering column' tacked in place. Now for a drag link and maybe she'll take paint. This thing is gonna be dangerous. I see an ER visit coming over the holidays!
