Morning from the frozen tundra. Not much going to happen up here today. Under quilt with fire roaring cat in lap dog at feet. Everybody is positioning for a warm spot.

Yep! None of us bounce off the ground like we used to.
It's not tha fall that hurts................it's the sudden stop at the end.

NEVER liked that much slope. Have a friend that recently bought a small house with one about that steep. Wants me to do a little sealing on/around chimney. I went up and looked at it 2 years ago and haven't found my way back up yet.
Not leaking yet but it can't last much longer.
Not sure if they called anyone else in on it. He really needs a new chimney and roof in my opinion.

We have some leaks as well but the house was built in 21' and it still has it's original clay tile roof. The bad thing is that very few want to have anything to do with it.

Ever think of metal? Comes in all sort of contours/colors and last 50+ years.
I never get tired of seeing your house! Imagine that time, WWI was over, car ownership was booming but people still used horses some, most families had hired help. Life was civilized, people cared about how they looked and how they spoke and how they behaved. Houses were designed to provide gracious living with high ceilings, custom built-ins, pocket doors, back stairs, full basement, etc.
Sure the clay tile guys are long gone. We have a area here in town with the 20's era houses on larger lots...nice!!

Need to find a Florida roofer. Remember seeing lots of clay tile down there. Have never seen one around here. Would be tough to find anyone with experience on them.
I would think the tiles are better with all that pitch. Need to be sure they drain out and don't freeze water under or they are done. Probably cheeper to slate it. (which is not cheap at all) Maybe go metal?

Yep. in fact Menards sells a product very close to what we have. There is a local contractor that has done that work. I have his number.
I have one on here and the old one had to be at least 75 years old.
