My ondest son and I have been trying to get his new gas tank in the Valiant yesterday, but are having some problems getting it up and on the filler tube.
We took the tube out and cleaned it up, and still can't get it in from the top.... :banghead:
We don't see anything hanging it up, but can't get the tube all the way in. So we are going to take them both out again today and see if they fit together outside the car first, then try to figure out the trick to getting them to fit together IN THE CAR!!! :twisted:
I refuse to let this tank and filler tube beat us...

Sleeping in is a good thing on Wednesday :color: I wonder if you do what some of the tool trucks did back in my day, go to a dough nut shop and go see your local folks with a treat ready to sweeten them up

Mine was a pain also. Lube the tube (hey that sounds fun) with silicone or petroleum jelly. I still had an issue getting the neck flush with the body I had to hit it in with a hammer and wood.
I am sure it will work. I just had the coal stove short a wire against the side so I will be busy before I leave. Glad I was near it when it happened. It was off and just started! Lucky, lucky lucky!
