Stop in for a cup of coffee

OK, random post time.

My '06 Charger SRT and my '69 GTS. Mopar beasts born 47 years apart. Both make my heart beat faster and my smile wider...

you are 100% on the $$ - rockers are actually very different than hippies - - think the difference between VanHalen and The Grateful Dead. Long hair? yea.. but a totally different vibe. I am an 80's rocker baby.. Van Halen was my go to but there was Sabbath, Zep, BOC, Ted Nugent, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith and on and on.. we were rowdy not mellow . yea, no VeeDubs - Chevelles, 442's, GTX's - as a local radio station recently called it - "the generation that kicked ***"... and we did!

Most rockers smoked weed like the hippies, but most won't admit it now... :sad4:

The B52's......Love shack! I know, I'm 60 and should be listening to James Taylor. (another favorite)

The guy in that group, Fred loved Mopars also, there was one of his in the video for love shack and he mentioned "chrysler" in the lyrics...

"I've got me a Chrysler, it seats about twenty,
So hurry up and bring your juke box money..."

I also vaguely recall a discussion earlier today about a '73 Monte Carlo. I had one of those that I bought from the original owner in '82. Talk about a mile of hood!

Ok, I have to ask

a few miles back you cats were talking about a torsion bar removal tool........when would you need a tool to help remove torsions bars.

Do your bars rust in place??

I would bet you guys have about 10 times the arm strength that I have and I cant say I have ever had troubles getting a torsion bar out.

what I usually do is unbolt the LCA and use a huge pry bar between the K- frame and LCA and use the LCA to push the torsion bar back and free it.

This of course after removing the little circle hair clip on the torsion bar perch.

Yes, some of them come out easily, some you can use the lower control arm to bang them out with, but some get so stuck that you need to really use force to get them loose... - You can't use vise grips on torsion bars because they will gouge them and cause them to crack under load... You have to be able to grab onto the bar real tight and bang the heck out of it with a 2 lb hand sledge hammer to get them out.. The miller tool is made to be pounded on with a hammer...

And on my son's 72 Challenger, we had to heat them with an acetylene torch to get them unstuck. Now we need to replace the bars. They were the factory originals and there was no more grease left inside the grease boots and they were dry and rusted in there good. I was able to get the pass side out with a propane torch, but the driver's side was so stubborn, I had to use acetylene to get it to move...

Here's the Miller Torsion bar tool in CAD that I did:

Here are some screen shots of the Miller torsion bar tool and how it fits on the torsion bar:

Here's my model of a 1.00" diameter A-body torsion bar - it's the correct length and hex size...

guess I ain't like most.. puffed hard - and that was on the days I took it easy..

actually my parents did admit to me about the weed but they were kinda embarrassed to tell me because I don't do it.....or never have.

I know of people who do and I don't really care what they do.

Now it is kinda annoying that it's legal in Co, because it's everywhere you turn.

wow - you up early or late? most people who grew up in the 50's or 60's tried it, but not everyone - it's a personal choice all the way. I can see it being a bit weird that it's everywhere..

cant sleep .....I am getting old and I cant eat late anymore.

going to be 30 this year and dang I can feel it.

I might as well sign up for the old folks place now that I am still aware of what I am doing and can walk there on my own power. :???:

LOL - pizza right? I have found the sauce gives me heartburn.. keeps me up big time. 30.. sheesh I'm 54... some words/sayings to keep you going - too legit to quit! and NEVER give up. We all feel our age at times.. but at 30 I was still tearing it up.. you got early arthritis?

nah, I was just being a bit sarcastic because I don't like change......I do have insomnia but other than that I think I am in great shape....I don't drink alcohol or smoke...anything. I do workout ...mostly jogging and running.

No arthritis yet but I do get a little quirky before a storm because I have metal hardware in my arm and back and an artificial ankle joint (all on the inside) from an accident when I was a teen but that has never really bothered me and doesn't really keep me down at all.

I think my problem is I drank a mountain and ate a slice of pizza late....I would bet the pizza alone wouldn't have made a problem.

Problem is that I am too hyper to be drinking caffeine...even though I don't think caffeine bothered me when I was younger but could have gone un-noticed because I am hyper. lol

me too tired to have caught the sarcasm.. smartie! I'm all mad at the weather right now.. and I've gotten 7hrs sleep in the last two days.. ugh. I have a metal rod and 4 screws in my right arm.. I hear ya with the weather thing.. that and my left knee, which I did a Ddaddy to years ago - it aches when it's cold and raining - like today. :violent1:

where I live now doesn't get too crazy with snow but this is my limit for the cold.

This year we have not even gone below zero except a few times and not much below which is great for me. I do so much better in the heat.

Summer is coming. Over night lows of 60 degrees here I come.

I love this place in the summer because it's dry heat.

I grew up in a humid place......I mean really humid ......when I say humid, I mean really really humid. That is annoying after awhile

Dry heat is perfect for cars and not sweating like a pig.

huh - that's cool - not what it looks like though is it.. most would think they are looking at a Vega...

I think someone said it's brazillion made ......who knows

I have seen pics of 68 valiant wagons around but could be photoshopped or something....no idea

I was just looking at a lot of early A wagons on google search ...some of them are pretty cool cars ...I think I am starting to like the 65 dart wagon.

Wagons are tough cars to build as I am finding with my coronet. Wagon specific parts are hit and miss and they come up on ebay and some people think they are worth gold but you sometimes find that seller that wants their garage space and sells it off for mega cheap. you never know what you are going to find. It is not consistent like more popular duster parts and the like.

LOL - too funny! we love the Minions.. banaanaaa...

minions are the coolest thing of my generation.

I can see 50 years from now, the minion plush that are at every wally mart today ....going for big bucks because everyone trashed theirs but everyone will remember minions.

They are making that much of a splash.

They even resemble some people I know
