Stop in for a cup of coffee

that is nuts...... my dad's early cuda is a B-code Hamtramck car and my "later" build 69 dart is .........a B-code Hamtramck car as well.

It was the Wild World of Mopar back in those days. I've seen cars that got dashes and interiors from the factory that they never should have...but they did!

Interesting day today. We're removing an unused door in our living room. It ruins most ways we could organize our furniture so we decided to get rid of it. Also, the painter is supposed to be here today to paint the ceiling in the same room. Hopefully they'll be able to get along ...

He's supposed to paint the windows too, so I'm thinking he'll be able to work on that until the door is gone and closed up.

Morning, all!

Rani, why do you call it a box Dart? I've never heard that before.

some of us believe that Darts should be divided up into more generations than what is commonly accepted as of now.

Most people refer to Early A's as such and the rest generically as 67-76 all lumped together.

I have a collection of darts and they span across the 68-72 and I can say first hand that a 67 has little to almost nothing in common with a 76

Anyone who has experience of getting down to the nit picked details on these cars would divide them up further as

67-9

70-2

73-6

I refer to 67-9 darts as "box darts" because they are boxy in every way. The front is flat and the rear is flat as seen from the sides.

The taillights are box shaped, the buckets seats are two square shaped pieces hinged on each other. The dash is boxy because everything has a square or rectangle theme going on. The speedometer is a rectangle, the radio has two square shaped thumbwheels (68 and 9)

My favorite generation is actually the 70-2 because the designers took a chunk out of the decklid as seen from the side and the front grilles sort of lean forward making some protruding lines and these cars look fast as a result even when sitting motion less. Bucket seats were now high backed seats that gave it a distinct appearance from outside the car.

73-6 They changed so much and not one interior piece is going to interchange with any earlier model correctly. 73-6 was the age of plastic interior pieces. The outside may look the same but they actually had different tail extensions which altered the side view to appear more luxurious and lost that "fast" appearance. The front ends changed and became known as "thick bumper" cars Or known as "beaks" if you want to be rude. :)

in particular 1972 is my favorite year of dart .....

many people do not realize, 1972 had many one year only things about it.

The dash, although appeared at first glance like the 73-6 Gen, is one year only. The heater/radio bezel is hard to find because one year only.

72 was the first year they made a thinback bench seat that folded flat to make loading the back seat easier. I have a 72 and when I first got it, I trashed the bench for some buckets because it was "cool"

but when I realized the engineering and innovation that went into 1972, I actually put an original type bench back in.

72 also had a one year only grille with larger turn signal than previous years.

Also the Electronic ignition was really gaining some steam and for 72 started appearing in every car line.

according to Chrysler historics, 72 was a year that a major redesign should have happened but Chrysler didn't budget a re-design till the following year 73, which made 72 an odd man out because there were so many changes from the typical 60s mentality, but it wasn't changed enough to be appreciated.

Good morning early bird's :coffee2: Blue lights down my road (gravel dead end) at 2 am this morning, sounded like there was a drinking young man out with a date and the parents did not want them out, Oh to be young again :glasses7: NOT !!

Get on top of your day Mike :coffee2: just take your time and take longer step as you get to where you are going on this leap day :color:

Since this is like an extra day, it should be a holiday.

Agree :coffee2:
I am going to see if I can leap back to bed and get a couple hours, I was woke by blue lights out front early this morning.. I wish I could just fall back to sleep like my dog did #-o

it really is odd that we have leap year.

I bet if we had a different base number system for time it would work out without a leap year.

for example ........Pi= 3.14159265359 as we know it on the base 10 number system, however when using the base 12 system, it works out without a decimal.

So base 10 with a cap of 60 is obviously not working out without a remainder. So that means this could actually be the year 3016.

Morning everyone. Just washed up on the beach long enough to check in. Looks like the shirts arrived except Ters. I had to fill out a customs form for his. Not sure how long it will take to get there.

Heading right out as soon as Eileen is ready. We have an unexpected family matter that came up while we were away. Everyone have a great day. I'll post pics later.

Rani....You have been on a roll overnight. Are you overdosing on Mt. Dew? How do you retain all of that?

Good Morning everyone! Are we ready to leap into March?

oddly enough ...no Mtn. dew for me last night or now.

I couldn't sleep all that great because I am thinking about too much. I need to get a fork and threaten my brain with it. "quiet down brain or I will poke you with this fork" #-o
