Stop in for a cup of coffee

Ddaddy's car is making me feel motivated to get my 69 dart online and on the street again.

The problem was the car had spent some time in Indiana. The previous owner is from here in Colorado but his job got transferred to Seymour, Indiana. He took the car with him and it spent (according to him) 8 years there. I think during that time it saw some salty winters because the car is now crusty underneath in places that are not typical to our local cars. After the 8 years, the previous owner came back to Colorado and I have the forms where the car was loaded on a car carrier and transported from Indiana back to Denver.

I think if it had been there longer it would be junk to my standards but I am going to save her.

Well, that said, I had her on the road but my cousin and dad didn't like the rust and crust on the brake lines so they black flagged the car and I wasn't allowed to take it out on the street anymore.

But that same year, for my birthday......they bought me a 68 dart to replace the 69 as a driver since the 69 was grounded and black flagged anyways.

So ....time went by and I got lazy but really all I need are new brake lines and to tag the car again and get it back on the road.

A little motivation is a good thing. I looked at pictures of something I started in 2013 and I'm still not done with it. That motivated me to get out in the garage last night, didn't make much headway but at least it is forward movement..

Finding the motivation can be hard, but I bet if you bought a bulk roll of tubing you might find the motivation pretty fast.

I have to admit, my previous order was nearly $500 and I had made a simple mistake - one head gasket instead of two - but, like you said, it can't hurt.If you have any kind of history with them, they will probably hook you up. BTW - their hats are junk BUT, I asked when I placed that big order if they had any freebees going.. got me a free hat to wear out in the garage.:D

Well, made the phone call.. I made enough large orders to them and since it was so recent that I recieved the last order they did waive the shipping fee. So new gaskets are being shipped out today!

Opps you are right he does some awesome stuff. It would be cool to print out and hang in the shop.

I have a logo for my little Motorsports Co. I wonder if I send him some Jerky, he can embellish upon existing work ?

Sure guys, I'd glad to work on whatever you've got. PM me an e-mail address and we can get started. :)

Wow. The Valiant is reflected in the van. Impressive. Or are they originally in the picture together?

Thanks guys!

Good eye on the reflection. I added that and the reflection of the white sign side of the van in the left top of the Valiant hood. The two vehicles are separate images and the van is borrowed from the image I did for Rani.

I reversed the van image (then reversed the emblems so they read right), changed the color, and added the white part with the sign. I also borrowed parts of the windshield on the Valiant to replace the windshield in the van so they would match.

Also about a hundred other little things to get it all to work together. :)

I just wish I could see it in better resolution.

How about this?

Holy Mackerel Agnes !! Outstanding Indeed !!

LOL Mitch, Mom used to say '' goodness gracious Agnes". I wondered who Agnes was. She used to say "surely undoubtedly" and her name is Shirley. I wondered who she was talking about. (I think the flu is making me delirious) LOL

Spray Bomb. LOL. They were pretty pitted and rusted, especially on the back side. So.. i used an air surfacer tool on the backside and steel wool on the (good) front side. Then I taped it all off Primed and sprayed it with bright silver. The rim is cracked in a few places as most of them do. I plan to send it out at some point to be professionally done. Just did this in the interim to make it look better for now. Put all new bearings in the housing and straightened the shaft, that was bent a little. Stripped and repainted all parts.
