Hi fellas!

Busy morning in here. Hey memike, it's Anders. :) And before you say anything: don't worry about it. I'm having a really hard time figuring out all the names on here. I keep mixing a few of you up.

I've already been over to my cousin's house 25 minutes away to pick up the compressor he borrowed from me a couple of months back. Had a cup of coffee and chatted for a while. There's four of us (cousins - I have 22 or so) living in the Gothenburg area so we decided to go out for beers some day.

Then I went to Home Depot (not literally but you probably wouldn't know Hornbach and Bauhaus) to pick up a work bench for the basement. Not for me to work on, though, it's for the washing room. Couldn't find one long enough at the first place (Hornbach) so I went to the secon one (Bauhaus) and there they had one that was only 150 mm (6 inches) too long which saved me $60 since I could buy one in stead of two. :D

Got some copper tuning also so now I'm all set to install a bench and a sink down there. Finally. It's only been like four years since we had the floor in there tiled and moved the washer and dryer in there...

good stuff - - pics yet?

I didn't take a single picture on the trip. I'll get some pics of the car ghis afternoon. I should have had a co-pilot to capture some of the desert SW. It's really beautiful. Never saw that part of the country before.

I lied. I did try to take a pic of the Welcome to Arizona sign. Probably why i didnt bother with any more!

Just saw on news... They canned 2 top execs from Wounded Warrior Project for extravagant spending. Also mentioned, they only get 50% of funds to vets! (I have given to this previously). If I ever win a lottery or something, and have a large amount of money I want to contribute, I would not give to a 'cause'. Seems like most of them get very little money to the people they are supposed to help. :violent1:

Hello Mr Benrick. Welcome back. Did you consume more than your nornal volume of coffee on this trip? I know I do when traveling. Especially without a co- pilot.
Scampi needs to take a drive and burn off some caffiene. :coffee2:

saw that crap last night - those two deserve to go to jail! I'm not even going to go into how disgusted I am with it - suffice to say I would get deleted due to language content.. rotten f^&*king bastards

hi Anders.. sounds like you've got a little project going there

Well, it was kind of big to start with but we've taken it in slow steps and we had the tiling done by a pro. Boom - two days - done. And done well.

But now that I think of it, man, I've put some hours in down there. When we bought the house in '03 that was the boiler room and half of it was oil tank. Before we moved in, however, all of that was removed and we were connected to 'district heating' (does that mean anything in the US?) so the room was empty.

The raw concrete floor was impregnated with diesel, though, so when we decided to move our washing facilities into that room, I decided I should grind the surface layer off with a diamond disc. That was stupid, plain and simple. Made no difference to the tiling guy and he pointed out that the concrete was armored with asbestos back in the thirties so he hoped I'd used a good breathing mask. :banghead: Well, I didn't.

Anyway. It's been clean enough to use for laundry for a few years now so that bench hasn't been the highest priority. But now it's in there and boy, does it look good!

Now I just need to make a hole for the sink and the faucet and fix it to the cupboards and the wall.
