Stop in for a cup of coffee

Just saw on news... They canned 2 top execs from Wounded Warrior Project for extravagant spending. Also mentioned, they only get 50% of funds to vets! (I have given to this previously). If I ever win a lottery or something, and have a large amount of money I want to contribute, I would not give to a 'cause'. Seems like most of them get very little money to the people they are supposed to help. :violent1:

I was watching that on the net last night... You just want to pummel those guys in the face for taking advantage of people trying to help the returning soldiers...

I get angry thinking that the government should take responsibility for that and it's cost. They sent the soldiers out to get 'broken', they should 'fix' them... Why is it the public's responsibility to clean up the government's mess??? Especially if we didn't agree with going to war in the first place...

Then the 'charity' groups step in and most charities don't give near what they tell you to help the cause... They usually end up taking it for themselves and paying the "staff"... Same old story, hide behind the name of "charity" to cheat people out of money...

I'm not against the soldiers, but I don't think the public should have to take care of what the government should be...

saw that crap last night - those two deserve to go to jail! I'm not even going to go into how disgusted I am with it - suffice to say I would get deleted due to language content.. rotten f^&*king bastards

x2...

See my post above... ^^^^

Well, it was kind of big to start with but we've taken it in slow steps and we had the tiling done by a pro. Boom - two days - done. And done well.

But now that I think of it, man, I've put some hours in down there. When we bought the house in '03 that was the boiler room and half of it was oil tank. Before we moved in, however, all of that was removed and we were connected to 'district heating' (does that mean anything in the US?) so the room was empty.

The raw concrete floor was impregnated with diesel, though, so when we decided to move our washing facilities into that room, I decided I should grind the surface layer off with a diamond disc. That was stupid, plain and simple. Made no difference to the tiling guy and he pointed out that the concrete was armored with asbestos back in the thirties so he hoped I'd used a good breathing mask. :banghead: Well, I didn't.

Anyway. It's been clean enough to use for laundry for a few years now so that bench hasn't been the highest priority. But now it's in there and boy, does it look good!

Now I just need to make a hole for the sink and the faucet and fix it to the cupboards and the wall.

don't worry about the asbestos, we've all been exposed to a class A carcenogen before... #-o

The room looks good...

Ok, I'm all caught up and nobody's here....

It took almost a page, but they were coming so fast for a bit, I had to stop commenting on everything... You guys had most of it covered - you're learning...

I said I'd get pictures, of course i didn't think to take any until after i had her wrapped up in her holding cell. She's not much to look at yet anyhow. But on further inspection, she is very rust-free. Great platform to start with. Thanks Robert (Crackedback).

That's cheating... Take it out of the box and show us.... :protest:

Least we forget. Kinko the kid loving Clown.

Oh yeah. I remember that one.

Dr. D once did a show dedicated to beer songs, I recorded it and listened to it all the time. Some great classics. Ice cubes and beer, There's nothing more depressing or dreer than to stand in a pub with no beer...

He even has some old prohibition ere songs...

I can't remember the rest, but we listened to it going up north to Wisconsin to go fishing and water skiing before school started... I even had my friends parents into it....

I was at an estate sale years ago bought up a lot of never opened Dr. D. vinyl.

I had all three of the anniversary double CD's. I used to listen to the show every Sunday night on WLUP Chicago...

Then when I moved to Detroit it was on the radio for a while and then the station cancelled it.

It was still on when I moved back here, but then Dr. D went web and no longer had the radio broadcast.

My dad had some old 77 RPM Spike Jones albums in great shape, I don't know what happened to them when he died. I was considering donating them to Dr. D. but I never found them after my brother cleaned out his house...

I have some Redd Foxx 45s. laugh of the party from my dad.
Still like some of ray Stevens work. Ballad of the Blue Cyclone The haircut Song among others.
