Stop in for a cup of coffee

Im planning to do option 3, including the whitewalls. Just want to run 70s instead of 75s, but plan to stay with 14". I dont think my stock wheels are going to be wide enough. Looks like the plain steels were either 4.5 or 5.5 wide and pretty sure I have the narrow ones.

I was really leaning to option 1 but now Mr. Karl has me leaning to option 2 which is the road wheels.

I have a set of the 5 spoke road wheels that came on a 70 belvedere 2 door post car I had and parted long time ago. They are even 70 date coded.

I have had them laying around in my way sooooo long, I might as well use them.

They spent about a year in the back of the wagon just so they wouldn't be on the dirt, and been moved around so much LOL.

ok, so just to add spice to life and make things different .......try new things and live young and get out of your comfort zone.

how much do stroker kits run .......appox. cost to make a 408 out of a 360??

has anyone here ever done it or kicked the idea around??

EDIT: Mr. M3, I am looking in your direction :evil3:

Older 360 or newer 360 Magnum?

ok, another question ......

what exactly is a stroker??

I heard someone saying to put a 440 crank in a 400 to make a stroker.

that will make the stroke longer ?? but wouldn't the bore be smaller than a 440 ??

what is the objective?? do you want a longer stroke but smaller bore ??

That seems like a slant six which is make for more low end torque with a long stroke and small bore...right??

would there be any advantage to a huge bore and shorter stroke like I would think a stock 400 has??

hi Rani - first - really glad to see that partsmix worked out for you! that's some cool stuff. Second - $$ for a stroker? well, I didn't build my motor, it was in the car when I bought it BUT - I have the receipts.. it really depends on how far you go - without the Edelbrock heads and associated work.. if you do or don't overbore.. SO many variables. With that said and knowing that mine does have the heads with work and the overbore and and and -- I can show you nearly 12k in receipts...

See how easy it is to decide.

because I know I can't explain it very well - I googled it and got this -- A Stroker kit is an aftermarket assembly that increases the displacement of a reciprocating engine by increasing the travel of the piston (that is, the piston moves further up and/or down in the cylinder).

Cragars or Torque Thrust's on a 68 GTS H code. I'll send some info after you get some (air) , from all else .

Are you putting the tail stripe on that? Which color?

I might just get ahead of you a little on prepping an image library to work from. :)

for me - assuming you leave the tire package on the blue car - - the Magnum 500 wheels have always been a great look.. so them first, then the Rallye wheels, then the police/dog dish - I've never liked the hubcaps...
wow ...like 15 pages to catch up on. :-k

what are your opinions on wheel selection for a later duster??

I do not use aftermarket anything but being BBP, there are a few options.

I have any of these options in stock and I wouldn't have to buy anything any of these ways...which do you like the best??

Cop wheels and caps (body color wheels)

road wheels

deluxe wheel covers

classic rally wheels

Just thinking it was time to get a beer! Today was one of the longest days ever at work! Now Im just doing some research for an upgraded fuel pump for the 360 and also looking into building AR's
