When I moved up here, they were new to me. Didn't take long for me to become a fan. Local markets they would be on sale for $.99/lbs. Tri Tip=ground sirloin as far as the big meat producers went. "Nobody eats those funny lookin' things." My ex mother in law was a caterer in SD and she had many high$ repeat customers. I made some tri tips for them on one of their visits and she was stunned. Looked all over San Diego for them, found one butcher shop that had them and $10/lbs they were .

Keep getting Brake lathes on my searches. Really tempted to get one if I ever get the Cuda gone. BIL has the one we used in the gas station we worked at with the shoe archer also. Mine if I go get it.
Hard to find a shoe archer.

We ran into a gal at the meat counter, she was buying them and asked if we'd ever tried them. Anyway we bought some and have been since, great flavor and inexpensive. Our marinade always has an acidic component to break down the meat a bit, have to cook those right

Tri Tip? We can't get them here. I don't know what the butchers do with it. Probably just include it in the sirloins

Looking for parts or selling? Is the spring show like the summer show only a bit smaller?
I’m just perusing. I have parts I need to finish putting on the dart. Then figure out my next steps.
Now wait a second. This is a problem I am not willing to share on this site......yet
There’s not secrets here…we won’t judge.

Low and Slow is my method. If I can hold my hand at the grill for a 10 count the heat is just right. About 45 min/side, good smokey firewood helps. I have gassed them numerous times with good success.

I have to been to all except the import. Spring and fall I like. Mopar is a good time. The rest really suck to me.
If i could attend the chrysler one, i could watch your booth for you. I could be security guard..i’d have to fly though.
