Ok Bubbas...

The car moved under its own power... just up the lane a bit. Still trying to get the idle and ignition happy.. there is a pop_pop noise when in gear and idling
Could be a small vacuum leak , spray something that will ignite wd carb cleaner around the carb base good, and allong intake runners at the gasket.. good luck, hope it's just a vacuum leak on the carb

She sounds VERY happy Mike, congratulations, love the sound of these poly 318 engines, makes me think of @FISHYPETE 58, 57 truck
I just have the timing set at 10 before and haven't messed with the idle mixture much. It may get better. I haven't adjusted the valves either.

Long day

Tapping out

Set choke

Couple of leaks managed... front end alignment set.

Got the e brake guide reattached where I had to move it to accommodate the dual exhaust.

Swapped out to the dead sexy valve covers!!

Hopefully, tomorrow a drive on pavement

They´re coming to take me away,
Haha, they´re coming to take me away,
Ho ho, hee hee, ha ha,
To the happy home with trees and flowers
And chirping birds and basket weavers
Who sit and smile and
Twiddle their thumbs and toes
And they´re coming to take me away,
HAHAAAAAAAAA
Those nice young men in their clean white coats.

But why do theirs have the buttons on the front? :realcrazy:

You had a busy day my friend, you will sleep good tonight that's for sure.
Congratulations on a good day, love the red light to let you know it's engaged

Checking in before I check out.
We went out to eat with the neighbors across the street. Had a great meal and a good time. I may check through the sites doing some mod duties, but't I am close to crashing. Nite all.

First thing i always recheck, 18436572
I changed distributors yesterday. Dang, Mopars are so easy. I put it in at 8 before. Bumped it to 10 and locked it down. I looked all over for a spark tester. No where to be found. I bought one of those adjustable gap ones that worked pretty slick.

what was it?
I cleaned up the wiring a bit but I think it was wired for a 4 pin. It has a 5 pin harness and it had a 5 pin ECU. I put the Filko on it and no change. I thought I'd try the China 4 pin and it fired right up.
I would change the wiring to a 4 pin. Reason I sent both.
I checked the pick up gap on the old distributor it was way wide and the distributor was really cruddy inside. It looked like a fresh junk yard pull. I didn't check it closer after I pulled it but it acted like the rivet for the pivot was loose. The plate was real sloppy nad you could move it around with the adjustment screw tight. The replacement that I had was marked "remanufactured", was clean, had a new vac. canister, and the gap was .009. It's good I looked a little closer at that old one.
