Safe area?
it's almost all safe... i feel bad for people that live in places like Texas honestly.... i grew up at 8mile/vandyke (north part of the city) .. through the 70s to now... no real issues... basically don't start ****, won't be **** :) I see people in texas have to carry guns just to go grocery shopping.. i don't get how anyone can live like that.. Everyone here has guns but we don't need them to buy food :)

To me he is just trying to make a tough guy statement. Do you realize how fast he can be disarmed from behind? Tough guys don't really need a gun BUT if he has one and he probably does you don't see it until it is needed. Just my humble opinion. I have yet to flash my gun to feel safe. And believe me or not I have been in tough situations.

yeah but it's not just him... there are pics of people down there constantly that will have guns hanging off of them to go shopping.. I can't imagine living life in that much fear all the time.

Looking at getting new valve cover gaskets, I don't want to go through all this and then find I have a leak. What is the best thing to use to attach the gasket to the valve cover?

do you have stamped valve covers or cast alum? and alum heads i assume?

if it's both machine surfaces get blue silicone gaskets.. you can take them on and off all you want and they don't leak.. i use moroso but it doesn't look like they have hemi ones

Those have a steel core and rubber/teflon outer... good stuffs.. just make sure they are the right ones.. hemi stuff is weird

P.S. with 2 machined surfaces and those gaskets you shouldn't need any sealer/glue

The concert last night was really good. The venue was stunning. It did get rebuilt after a bad flood a few years back.

? you use bolts.... lay them on the head.. put the valve cover on and line up the holes... in your situation i would honestly be using like 1.5" long studs for the valve covers.. then you just lay the gasket on put on the cover and then nuts
All good with the bolts, did not know if there was any additional sealant.

Already have these that came with the covers from Ray Barton

ah.. then nope... you could glue the gaskes to the valve covers but no reason to.. machined surface to machined surface seals really well... old heads that were cast iron had a sealing surface like the moon.. just craters and nasty, thats why you use cork with them

Here is the final product and mods to fix the MC mess I had to deal with........................................

Moving forward, I do not want to deal with the same MC issue. I ordered the relo bracket from Mancini and a different MC. With the new setup, modifications still needed to be done to clear everything.

-The studs to mount the MC had to be pressed out, and the holes tapped to receive new 1/2 bolts.
-The passenger side bolt hole needed to be cut out so I could rotate the MC onto the bolt, then tighten it up.
-Shave down the front of the hole to gain more clearance.
-Shave the bolt head itself down to gain more clearance.

The result is:
-The relo bracket can bolt up to the firewall
-Install valve cover.
-passenger side screw is already installed in the relo bracket and then backed out to accept the master to pivot onto the bolt.
-Install driver-side bolt.
