The VR had no ground wire as well. I am adding on from the block to the VR.
Your best friend.

After your posts about that several times, I ordered several different sizes and will be here today.................
They work great you dont have to run any wires. Do all the ground points and you will never have any issues. Try it on the back of the VR first so you get the feel for it.

BTW.. the ground thing is normal.. this is how you learn how important grounds are :) This and a dim headlight...
Lots of that around now. The cars sit for a year and get corrosion. Especially with dis similar metals like a terminal ground and body steel.

or you do like me and put on super thick urethane paint in the engine bay and think.. naw.. the screw threads are good enough :)

I have been getting alot of my distributor is weird, like the spark is walking. Not on mine, just what they have. The reason is guys are not using a metal base gasket on the dual points and trust the clamp for a ground. Thats really hit or miss. Also is the block and clamp painted etc. Try to walk people through it to save money. Some listen some are askholes! Then felpro I think sells a dual point gasket that is fiber! Metal are hard to find NOS only that I know of.

Man.. speedmaster is selling their 440 top end kit (heads, intake, rockers, valve covers) for $2k.... that's less than my heads alone were :(

Scott after you clean the grounds and re attach them, coat it with something like fluid film or battery terminal grease. Dielectric works well also. Will out last you!

Hoping my 408 doesn't take all summer to get the block done.... BUt on the other hand.. i am probably going to a bigger cam. will need new springs/retainers and all that.. and lifters.. gonna hurt the bank account.

I know I want the pop engine out. Have the heads, need to port them still, Dumping the fear drive way to noisy for me and want to change the cam. Hope Carlisle treats me well! I really like the 440 source heads but cant afford that on this car.

Bah.. that's the car you do it on.... it deserves all the parts :)

I figure steel heads are fine. No use trying to save weight. Thing weighs over 4K now. Horsepower overrides it anyhow!

Dakota needs paint badly. Thats a few grand just in materials. Black paint prices suck! I will die and that car will still be around. Love that thing. Glad I dont commute any more 13MPG on the highway!

I'll be honest...i been watching paint videos with guys using rustoleum and thinning it and using it like normal gun paint and the results are amazing for like $100...

I want to bring this back 100 stock it is close. Clear coat is peeling and starting to get surface rust on the hood and roof. Friend found me a NOS set of decals. Hard to find in grey.
