Stop in for a cup of coffee

Morning folks! Had an odd experience yesterday. I was working on a new rabbit hutch in front of the garage and my son asked me what was burning? We have the haze from the Canada smoke so I told him it was probably from the wildfires. He said No, by the mail box! I look over there and sure enough there’s a small plume of smoke rising up. So I grab a flat shovel and run out there. Sure enough, the grass was on fire! So I beat it out with the shovel and turn around. There’s another wisp of smoke on the opposite side of the road! Crap! So I run over and put that one out too! No idea what started them but that could have gotten ugly quickly!
ambers dropping out of the smoke?!?

Possibly. It was odd. I live on the west side of Michigan about 15 miles from Lake Michigan so they’d have a pretty long ride!

Think someone mentioned earlier, dragging tow chain or the like scattering sparks.

Is it super dry there?

Had a guy tell me about chasing down a freight train out west once that had a brake locked up on a car and scattered sparks/ started fires for several miles

Yes, very dry. I have things to burn in my fire pit and now waiting for some rain to do it!!

Morning fellers and one girl, nice outside this morning with coffee on the deck. Picked up my DeSoto from my brothers yesterday and took in a show in Rifle CO. Now I need to get it put away before it gets hot.

Scammers are sure keeping up with their job, Just got a text message that I have an unpaid amount on a toll road. :wtf:

In Wherthaforkistan?

AI makes it harder to pick out some of this crap these days. The usual, garbage English is less common...you have to look close

Lucky it was a stupid scam when they use my cell phone or house phone.

Done for the day... better but still not good. Longer run this time and temp got up to about 220 when I got it backed into the garage... something isn't right.

Pulled about 2 pints of fluid out of the transmission beforehand. It was over full.

Doesn't feel like there's a "passing gear" straight run, I can feel it going through the gears. But going wot doesn't create any more. It drops into 1st gear at about a dead stop.

It was unconventional pickup day with the Derelicts today. #1 '65 El Camino tubbed, roll cage, big block, poly windows. #2 LUV truck, tubbed 295s at least under there, Tunnel Ram SB. #3 All original '64 Datsun pickup :D

I'm sure you will get it right soon Chris.

Weather cooperated today and so I did some sand blasting on the 63 roof. It took more sand than I figured so tomorrow I'll get more sand
Fender, door and some of the 1/4 panel is about ready for primer and I been dragging my *** on getting anything done.

Back during covid locksmdown someone stole the tag off my Camry. Grand daughter noticed it gone. Officer came and took notes but gave me nothing. About a year later I received a notice of fine to pay with a poor pic of a red pickup wearing my tag with its Oct sticker expired for months. I had to drive into town, have police hunt down a case number and provide a copy of report to mail to the toll road people. Worked out in the long run. I recognized the truck. I told all about it. The thief got popped for multiples.
