Stop in for a cup of coffee

You guys talking about slot cars are peaking my interest again. I have a couple of sets and a boatload of track. But they are the 1/32 66 Barracuda and 67 Charger sets. It’s been many yrs since I played with those

I'm having visions. Visions of many streets on the north side of town being gutter to gutter in rain water  . Drainage is pretty iffy over there, it's pretty flat. An inch of rain since midnight here. WooHoo, jet ski racing at the Speedway!

Same here they just kept coming up in my daily searches. Hey why not right?

Speaking of extras, I need to talk to my peeps about a vendor space for MITP this year. I want to bring my truck and get rid of some big parts like transmissions, bumpers, moldings, and the like.

USA Juniors took the loss versus Finland

Couldn't dig it out this year
Can’t “like” that, and it’s a damn shame they couldn’t even make it to the quarter finals, given they are on “home ice”. And as much as anyone would like to blame Bob Motzko, those kids were flat-footed right outta the gate, first game.

And the game against Sweden was just flat out embarrassing.

I have quite a few hockey buddies who have tickets that are up for sale, if anyone wants some.

I had a bunch of older sets of 1/64. around 2018 Hobby lobby started clearance'in the big sets

so I bought one 2 coke bottle mopars a good chunk of track and 18" banked corners.
I set it up, and was blown away with how nice rgw banks were.
when back the next day and bought the other 2 sets nascar (those cars sucked)

then grabbed 2 more non banked sets and when it looked like AFX was discontinuing their 15" flats,
I bought enough to go inside the banked corners.
Probably about 200' of track and banks/flats to make 6-4 lane 180° corners.
All in a big roadcase.

as far as the vibrator cars, and such...
here is a great guide page on all slot car chassis
HO Slot Car Racing

aurora is basicly an autoworld Thunderjet
afx is their x traction
and they make the 4 gear, too
they sell "pit kits"

never heard of the vibrator car before. Thanks for the link! Looks like some good reading later on.
how many transformers do you have hooked up to power the cars thru all that track?
one per lane was one way. would a train transformer work if voltage output was locked?

Great writer. From what I understand. Never have read any of his works.
I've read all of his writing and some that were finished by his son.

I got hooked when I was given a copy of The Hobbit in 1972. Still have that book.

The complexity of the entire "universe" he created is mind boggling

the auto world transformer did well powering 2 lanes, and I made "jumper cables" and used 3 power feed tracks in paralell to the controller/transformer. it's the inter track connections that kill ya.
I also use this stuff to prevent rust/oxidation and improve the connections
I had the track on the shop floor for a week one thanksgiving and never had to clean the track
use it on the end connectors, too. I have used a dab on 400 wet/dry to clean up bad spots, clean with alcohol, apply a dot

The movies don't do justice...

I have the books if you want to borrow them.

Movies are entertaining

The modern Hobbit movies are an abomination (not as bad as the animated one from the 70s)

If you watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy, then it must be Directors Cut. Extra 2 hours of content.

I started "spring cleaning" Thursday and am seeing a little bit more of carpeting in the room of collections and junk. Next year, the plan is to redo some of the kitchen and get a smaller table. my Dad and Uncle made the one we are using now. so, next year, if I'm able or willing to clean out that much stuff, I'll have a 38" X 72" surface to use as I see fit. seeing as how there are two HO sets in the closet along with a box of extra track, maybe that will be set-up on it.
