This is why I bought an extended warranty on the truck I bought 1.5 years ago. It is insane how things are assembled anymore. Just had a washing machine die after 14 months of life! I said screw it and bought a Speed Queen!!

This is why I bought an extended warranty on the truck I bought 1.5 years ago. It is insane how things are assembled anymore. Just had a washing machine die after 14 months of life! I said screw it and bought a Speed Queen!!

Similar here. 24 month old whirlpool with all the auto sensor crap (How does it know how dirty the clothes are??)

It would not change cycles (wash to rinse to spin) so I had to manually switch the dial.

Figured out it was the lid latch sensor. I use a wood shim to jam the lid in position, and now it works OK.
