Yes , like to see them !Beautiful Lillies. That reminds me. I need to snap a couple pics at the wife's request.
She was excited to see so many blooms on the Azelia. It usually only flowers one at a time. Impatience and Tuberous Begonias like it on the patio. The rose is about done.Yes , like to see them !
You can easily get the engine out with the hood on. I did. You can even do it with the trans attached. You have to jack the car up as high as you can, drop the transmission cross member. Let the tail shaft down to nearly the ground. Then, remove.Ya, never the answer you want to hear. Different car but I tried that with my Dart and ended up taking the hood off. I would like to hang out with someone that pulls them out the bottom. They say that's the **** but all I have is a cherry picker.![]()
They work. You will need one if you are pulling it out with the hood on.btw, any of you guys use those engine lift plates that bolt to the intake? they scare the **** out of me, i use a 4 chain "Leveler" type lifting device.. but i can see how the lifting plates would be soo easy

Ok I’m a factory iron intake, I don’t trust them on an aluminum one. Though I have used them as such.btw, any of you guys use those engine lift plates that bolt to the intake? they scare the **** out of me, i use a 4 chain "Leveler" type lifting device.. but i can see how the lifting plates would be soo easy

I’ve done it from the bottom, only once, with a 74 charger and a cherry picker.
Jack car up put on stands. loosen, not remove the 4 k frame bolts and the torsion bars(or as is the benefit of a 3rd gen charger, unbolt the torsion cross member) remove Jack stands, slowly lower the car down enough to set on wood blocks, k frame into something with wheels.,, now remove the k frame bolts then using a chain attached to the core support, use the cherry picker to lift the car up until the engine clears from underneath. Roll engine out.
Having done it both ways, I’ve found out the top to be quicker and less painful.
Now, one thing I haven’t done is reinstall from the bottom. That’s where I think the true benefit would be. And I plan to do just that when it’s time to put the dart together
I think I need to clean my phone camera lens. Pics are a bit cloudy.Impatience are beautifull!
No you don’t….They work. You will need one if you are pulling it out with the hood on.

I had a leveler. I wonder if I didn't sell it. I probably ordered it in, used it once, and sold it on the tool truck at a discount.Ok I’m a factory iron intake, I don’t trust them on an aluminum one. Though I have used them as such.
I didn’t like the leveler cause it maxed out the height on my cherry picker before the oil pan would clear the core.

See this is where being broke most of my adult life pays off.I have pulled like 100 engines in different wayswas just worried bout doing it with the hood on is all.. o big thing...
And i love the guys that are like "just lift the car off the engine" yes.. as soon as i get a lift and all that... also.. even if you don't have a lift you still need some type of cart to put the engine/trans on to get it out from under the car.. i try to have less stuff in my garage not more![]()
yeah i have seen guys do it with a cherry picker.. for me i would just get pissed with the cherry picker legs in the way and ****... rather just come out the top..See this is where being broke most of my adult life pays off.
You learn to adapt.
Harbor freight sells a moving dolly rated for 1000 pounds for 10 bucks. That and a pair of 2x4 scrap pieces screwed together and boom, cheap disposable k frame dolly.
And no, you don’t need a lift at all to come out the bottom. Just a cherry picker and a chain.
If you have a gantry crane, could do it that way tooyeah i have seen guys do it with a cherry picker.. for me i would just get pissed with the cherry picker legs in the way and ****... rather just come out the top..
And i do agree about being broke, i grew up super broke and i still have a habit of trying to make stuff work with what i have (although i'm good at wasting money now on stupid ****)
Jesus... i'm soo sorrySo thinking of filing for divorce.
My wife has done something so vile I don’t think I can stomach it.
It’s just so damn sickening. I mean after all these years together, she pulls this?!? Whatever happened to loyalty! Like wtf.
I just can’t believe it.
I’m just at a lost for words.
Like how can anyone, anywhere ever do this….
How can anyone actually want an 86 Camaro Z28?!?
I read somewhere that it can be done. I guess with a lifting plate and short chain on picker it would go. My buddy cuts out the top of the rad support, them makes brackets to bolt it back in. Did it on the mustang, that little extra really helps.god i hate these forums some times.... posted on fbbo asking if there is room to pull the engine with the hood on.. "first thing i do is remove the hood" k.... how is that helpful at all?
