Stop in for a cup of coffee

Its a small deal but one of my favorites. I will be in an older white Ram 2500 extended cab selling a fiberglass assortment for a challenger. Can't miss me...ha

I installed the new Furnace/AC in the laundry room yesterday. Just need to hook up the gas/electric/exhaust. Then I'll call by HVAC buddy to come over and connect the line set and controls and power it up. Saved a ton of $$ doing this myself.

Cant get the pics to go the right way. Can someone smarter than me help ?

Did my own a few years ago. With low basement ceilings I had to go wide on my ducts. It thick fiberglass. Come precut and you just unfold, make a box and tape for the straight-always. These monster transitions were a bit more work.

Well the grass is calling for me to begin mowing!

I just went through some trouble fixing one of my mowers... :violent1:

It's a walk behind with the bigger wheels. The wheels are so wobbly that they are rubbing on the mower deck.... :burnout:

I took one of the wheels to Sears (it's a Craftsman mower), and the only large wheel is not the right one... :banghead:

So the guy gives me a number for the local parts outlet and I try to call them twice and no answer... Mind you, that I'm trying to call them at 4:00 PM and the hours on the paper slip say that they are open from 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM... :finga:

Then I try to call the national Sears parts "hot line" and no answer there.... :finga:

So I call my local family ma and pa lawnmower supply and repair shop. The guy looks it up and the wheels are $42 each.... Then tells me that the mower is only worth about $100 and it's not worth putting that kind of money in it... I agree, but have already put a new blade, air filter, and spark plug in it... :banghead:

My youngest son and I look closely at the wheel and see that it has bearings similar to some that we saw at a local Ace hardware store. So I punch the bearings out of the plastic wheel housing and match them up at my "GOOD" Ace Hardware store that has the most hard to find stock and they have them for $5 each. Four bearings at $5 = $20 to get the wheels back working again....

Why is it so difficult to get things done today??? I like Sears, but I don't like what I see when I go there. I was walking around the sales floor for 5-10 minutes and not one employee asked to help me... I couldn't even find one near me... But there were 3 in the cashier station talking and no customers. I didn't want to bother the only guy that was working and stocking the shelves, but I finally got tired of waiting for one of them to "volunteer" to help me.... [-X

So I went to the center aisle and yelled real loud so the whole store could hear me,

"DOES ANYBODY WORK HERE??? CUSTOMER NEEDS HELP IN LAWN & GARDEN"... :director:

Then the guy who was stocking the shelves came over to help me... And the other three kept talking to each other at the register..... :violent1:

Rudely awakened by an argument between Billy and his mother at 4:35 -- yeahhh four thirty in the fricken morning!!! -- I'm on the back porch at 7:20 working on my third cup of coffee and enjoying a little fire in the chiminea.

They're both asleep again.

Would it be rude or just some fun payback to go sit behind my drum set right now and crank out my best rendition of YYZ??? :-D

Good morning FABO!

Good morning Leanna,
Loud enough that we can all hear please. :evil2: LOL

Do IT!!!

When I was in college, I loaned the guys next to me a pair of my speakers because they blew theirs. I had a test the next morning and had to study for it one night...

The guys next door were out partying and came back making a bunch of noise between 2 and 3 AM, while I'm trying to get some rest before my test....

The RA even came out to tell them to quiet down at least 2 or 3 times and they were still loud. (The RA came on his own, I didn't call him).

So in the morning as soon as "quiet time" was over at 8:00 AM sharp, I blasted Boston "It's Been Such A Long Time" at 100 watts times 4 speakers from the other side of the wall from them... :finga:

There was nothing that they could do about it as the quiet hours were over. Some nice base pounding in their hung-over heads from the other side of the wall at 100 watts... :violent1:

They NEVER came in loud again after that.... :D

(My stereo was known to be heard across campus... I used to take requests from students to play certain songs for them to hear during their classes... JVC RX500B with only .003% total harmonic distortion at 110 watts and Fisher 844B speakers with 15" woofers and cone tweeters and a set of Audio Lab speakers for the mid range).

Alright guys. Had enough fun here this morning. Time to get busy. Got a small mechanical job out in the shop. And then, its back to HVAC install. Yall have a GREAT day.

Yep, I better go. Good talking with you all...

Hang in there Leanna. Sorry about Martin....

Did you get anything in the mail lately???

Good morning sir Hops. What is that?
I'm actually heading out the door to check a couple sales myself... See ya.

Everybody's up, some are gone and my coffee isn't done yet. I only got 4 hrs. of sleep Thurs. night so last night I caught up. Now it's time to wake up.

Can I just beat her senseless with my aluminum softball bat, dispose of the body, clean up the resulting mess to eliminate the DNA and trace evidence, and be in the shop looking busy all before Billy wakes up???? (Edit ... I might make it TWO holes ...)

Ten bucks says I CAN ...

Thanks Karl < hug >

I kinda know what you mean Leanna. My sister had Mom stay at her house for a month after rehab and we both agreed she needs to go back to her apartment a week early. There were arguments every other day. God, I hope I don't get that way when I am older. Is marijuana legal in your state? Grammy needs a bowl or two to mellow out!

The house was built in 1921. The garage was built in 1919 and was lived in while the house was being built. Ya, the fire hydrant is in the yard. The city moved them in from the curb a few years ago so they wouldn't get buried by the snow plows in the winter. The house needs a lot of work but we like it.

Wow Leanna. Looks like you have your hands full there. Does she have health issues? Dementia or Alzheimers ? I know it can be very tough to care for someone like that. My wife Sue has had Brain Tumors removed on three different occasions. And I fear that she will be prone to dementia. In fact , I think I already see signs. And she is only 58.

I feel for you Mitch. I hope for nothing other than the best for both of you.

She's got both, and Sundowners on top of that. Trying to get her real help has proven to be a chore and her insurance benefits ensure that any home health program doesn't last very long. She was doing pretty good healthwise until December but nowadays she needs help with EVERYTHING. A couple of motorhead metalworkers are totally out of our element in trying and it's only created resentment and animosity.

It's also the reason I don't spend much time here anymore. My attitude is awful and my thoughts and life are best kept to myself.

It's hard to say now what changes the future will bring, but I'm intent on making them POSITIVE ONES.

It's a familiar story. Families have changed. Our Dad decided years ago to move far away from where we were raised. Now he has dementia; he doesn't want to leave there, and none of us can uproot our lives to go help him. And he hasn't ever wanted our help and doesn't want it now. Add a crazy wife to the mix, and your only options are have a judge declare him incompetent, or since he is happy with the way things are, leave things to run their course and pray for the best.

My granddaughter had a great time with us Saturday and I crashed about 6 to 9 last night, had a PB&J sandwich then back to sleep by 11pm, till about 4 am, I know not a sole is up yet but I may as well talk to some body even if it is myself :D
Thunder is shaking the windows this morning here on the hill as I enjoy a quite :coffee2:

Happy Mothers Day people
