Stop in for a cup of coffee

Haha yeah.......I'll get back to you in a year on that one lol
LOL!

Nah, it won't take you that long...you did pretty well out of the gate, you'll get the hang of it fast enough. It just takes a little time and practice.

Before you know it, you'll be doing your own "Hello Kitty" versions of Scampy's Nova!

Yep. It could happen to any of us. (especially if your 60 or so) Enjoy life. You never know how much time you have left.

Don't take life too seriously, you'll never get out of it alive....

If birth certificates only had expiration dates so we knew when our time would be up....

My friend asked, "If you could find out how when you were going to die, would you want to know???"

I said, "No..."

He replied, "Forget it then...."

I want to die in my sleep, like my grandfather...

Not screaming and yelling, like the passengers in his car....

Thanks. It was so sudden and unexpected, I can hardly believe he's gone. He was a rare bird with a subtly dry sense of humor. When things were really bad at work, he'd always have a little zinger to bring everyone back to realizing that it all didn't really matter...it wasn't anywhere near as important as real life was.

He was a gay man with a life partner of 40 years living in the deep South...but fully supported and loved by his family and 5 brothers for everything he was. He was strong of soul and conviction and dealt with everything with a sly smile, a quick joke and kindness that could only come from being who and what he was. He found tolerance, acceptance and success working at St. Jude doing good science to help find cures for childhood cancer and later at the University of Tennessee working to help develop new drugs for terrible diseases. His works made countless lives better and his friendship did the same for many more.

He will be missed.

Sorry to hear about your friend..

Look what my new neighbor gave me for X-mas...

Thanks. He was a good man and I'm quite sure that Heaven will be an even nicer place with him there now.

One of his other jokes...

A man dies and goes to heaven. Everywhere he goes people stand patiently in line to get wings, robes, halos etc. They all wait their turn politely and no one complains about waiting in line.

When he goes to get his wings, a man in a white coat with a stethoscope around his neck cuts around everyone and goes to the front of the line. He thinks it's odd but doesn't say anything.

After two more days the same thing happens everywhere he goes. Halo shop, robe shop, etc. The same guy in the white coat cuts to the front of the line every time.

He finally decides to ask Saint Peter what's going on. "Why does this doctor seem to think he's better than everyone else and jumps to the head of the line all the time?"

Saint Peter tells him "That's not a doctor, it's God...he just thinks he's a doctor."

Speaking of X-mas gifts...

Look what the youngest son got from Keegan Michael Key for X-mas.. Time magazine with Key & Peele on the front cover - personally autographed to him!!! (he's named after Keegan Michael Key - my ex wife grew up with him)...

Our Keegan didn't get to go to Detroit this year for X-mas, but his older brother did and brought this back for him. His brother hung out with him on X-mas night, but didn't get any pictures because - and I quote, "We were having too much fun to take pictures this year..."

Sorry for the loss of your friend, Dave. He made a big contribution and leaves a big void. So many in his age group were wiped out by AIDS, I often wonder about my many friends, what they would have gone on to do. I never forget them and they have a big influence on me still. I'm glad your friend was able to touch so many lives.

Thanks. I think he survived the World of those days because he was monogamous and so deep in the south that he stayed close within his support system. The professional life he had was a place to thrive with acceptance and opportunity to live the life he wanted. He was a good man and it's sad to see him leave, especially in the prime of his life when he had finally gotten to a place of real success and financial comfort. I, and his many friends, will miss him.
