Stop in for a cup of coffee

Good evening folks! I'm glad it's the weekend. It's been a long work week...and we even had Monday off.

Time for some cold beer...First one is in honor of Chris.

So update on the engine in the Dart. guys are questioning the HP and TQ numbers on it. SOO I called back builder, a real nice guy, he asked for the seriel number he had affixed to the block. OK, found it, gave it to him, 408 stroker. Posted the new info now it is under-powered! LOL :wtf:

An Irish guy walks into a bar and orders 3 beers.

Bartender says "you don't need to order 3 at a time, just tell me when you want another one and I'll bring it to you"

The guys says "Oh no, you see it's part of a promise I made with my 2 brothers that no matter where we were in our lives, we would have some beer together at the end of every day. Since I'm here in America and they are still back in Dublin, this is how I keep that promise."

The bartender nods his understanding and brings the guy 3 beers. The guy drinks them all down, taking alternating sips from each as he went.

He repeated this for 3 rounds of 3 beers each, paid his tab and left.

The guy came back into the bar every night for 3 weeks, following the same routine each time.

On the 4th week, he walked in looking sad and asked the bartender for 2 beers.

The bartender said "Oh no, don't tell me something happened to one of you brothers?"

The guys sighed, shook his head and said "No, they're fine...but my Doctor told me today that I have to quit drinking."

Ugh, you aren't listening to the peanut gallery of public commentary again are you?

Reality is that a 408 stroker with a dual plane intake, 750 cfm carb and 9.6:1 compression is intake A/F flow limited to around 6000 rpm and it's making all the power that it can in that configuration.

Is it all the power than it could make?
No, but it would require using a single plane intake and an 950 cfm carb to get it...and it would be getting it at higher rpm (like around 7500-8000 rpm)

It's not a dragster engine build for racing only, it's built for the street and it was nicely done for that goal....and it's even a bit hot for that purpose.

like Dave said - don't listen to them.. 480HP is right about where it should be. So, anything up with wheel choices?

I've been considering going old school on the Scamp.. as in Cragar SS's... maybe
Im thinking Keystone classics!
