Stop in for a cup of coffee

I just saw a thread yesterday where the guy had a nice cam suggestion, but I can't remember where it was...
Problem is that everyone keeps talking about Doug Dutra .....but it looks like he hasn't been around for a solid decade.

All the cam suggestions like erson look like they have not been available after 2010

All the threads on slant six dot org including the site seem to be from the mid 2000s

Its almost as if slants were cool 10....15 years ago but everyone just stopped

If there is small demand, many things get dropped...

Then when there is not many choices, then you may want to have a custom grind made... The one I got from Crower was reasonably priced... Let them design a custom grind for your application and it will run very well and be made to modern cam technology... They can tailor one just for your set-up...

Pick up the phone and call them instead of trying to shop over the internet like a millenial.... :poke:

Old school solution for an old school car.... :D

how's that hand doing?

It's about 80% there... My range of movement is back about 97%, but I still have pain when pushing it with lifting and twisting... I can open some doors now, but there is some tightness and pain involved...

I need to improve on my strength and movement with some weight in it..

I had a bad experience with them on a cam for the kid's 360... :icon_fU: :soapbox:
like me with Jim's -- they pissed me off BIG time and I will NEVER do business with them ever again - on the other hand, Dave has had nothing but good luck... go figure. They ARE a middle-man business, no two ways about it - but their web site shows SO many parts that it's hard not to "one stop shop" - you order from them, they order from someone else and you pay them to do what you could have done with just a small amount of extra surfing

Never really cooled off here. Wife and I will be heading to the coast today!

That's bout the time the Schumacher swap mounts came out. Making a slant 6 to v8 swap much easier and cheaper.

That said, call Oregon cam grinders. 75 bucks they'll grind you a cam to your engine

Oregon is good too, ask for Ken Heard...

That's who we dealt with to make a copy of the 68 340 4-speed cam...

so on the 3/4 ton truck thing - I'm thinking I might actually tow with it 2 or 3 times a year - MOST of the time it'll be an over glorified DD.. do I really need to go diesel...??

@halifaxhops guy local to me selling a sub tester 1120 engine tester and a dizzy tester for 450 bucks combined or 300 for the engine tester or 150 for dizzy tester. I'm tempted

hum... they do get better mileage.. now for the 10 thousand dollar question - 3/4 ton good enough or should I be considering a 1 ton?
I told you, not much difference between the two with single rear wheels. Usually just overload springs on the one ton. Same brakes, wheels, MAYBE different springs, but i dont think so.
