Stop in for a cup of coffee

I need to do some PM on my Cobalt and it has just been to cold. The wife might have to go to the Doc today for a big cold sore that looks infected, should be fun finding one. She was just there on Thursday also.

Nothing for me to do today, but stay next to the gas fireplace and watch movies / surf the interweb

I am South of Annapolis along the Beautiful Chesapeake Bay. Love it here. But it is expensive. Taxes and so forth.

When I was stationed in Norfolk we were on the bay every weekend in the summer. Great place to enjoy the water. My wife has literally had nightmares about going across the bay bridge when it was two lanes. Well I finally had a pipe freeze here going up to the upstairs bathroom against the outside wall. Last one I would have thought of in this old place.

My son bought a house in Huntingtown, South of me. Called me yesterday about frozen water pipe. His incoming well pipe and pressure tank is ion a crawl space. I told him to go buy heat tape and install it.

There is not much else you can do. The one that froze on me is right next to the front door boxed out from the outside wall. I really cannot get in there unless I rip it open. I am pretty sure there is no insulation in it. The kid noticed no cold water upstairs. We got lucky and was able to run the hot for a while and it loosened up the cold in the void. No leaks that I can see. dodged that bullet.

I will talk to ya later, found a place to bring Marilyn this morning. Trying to beat the storm. I really wish the Yukon was running today.

Good morning! Frozen pipe problems? If you have a outlet or switch in the wall you can take it loose and blow warm air into the outlet box with a fan. Hair dryer works too. It will warm up the cavity and might melt the blockage. That expandable spray foam insulation would be good for that cavity.

Morning all.

zkx14 nice setup, now I know where to go to get stainless welded.

Thanks, I didn't realize till recently that you can MIG stainless. Not as nice as what I've seen from TIG, but I think I can get it close with more practice. It welds about the same as mild steel, just different materials. I've never done TIG - hope to get setup and learn that eventually.

Hey Mike. Do you buy any inventory from ISN/Tool Web ?

I don't buy from ISN but I have a couple of tool warehouses I buy from. My allegiance lies with MAC of course. There is a minimum purchase agreement I have to follow to keep my distributorship. I use the outside vendors to purchase tools that Mac can't supply or be price competitive on. tmm

Just curious. I stocked and distributed their tools for 30 yrs at my Parts Store Chain. I know that they are nation wide now. Since I spent soooo much money with them in those years, they were kind enough to extend an account for me to use at the same discounts for my tool needs at my Home Shop. I also kept a Chemical Supplier from Phili. to get Motor Oils , Anti Freeze , Paint, Hand cleaner, Shop towels. Etc.

good morning all, feeling pretty pumped this morning. Going to reassemble my transmission today with lots of goodies...

I hope to keep those supply lines open when I retire in a few years. It could be a fun little "part time paper route" for a retired toolman. lol

Mornin all!! Cold again, but I'm foraging through to serve the masses today at the big concert/ spaghetti dinner for all of the music programs for our school district! I'm on sauce from 1-3, and hoping to hear some good orchestra/band/choir music to sooth the hungry masses! Ian plays at 1:30, Nella and the choir are on at 4:30! Maybe a trip to the scrapyard before to clean out the scrap bins!! I got appliances coming out my ears from an appliance swap out job! Tried to donate them but they didn't want them!! Oh well!!

Enjoy the day all!! Geof

Sounds like a busy day. Get er' done Geof!!!!

Just sitting here enjoying my second cup. :coffee2: Weatherman says it's snowing in Pittsburgh. Looks like we won't escape this monster. Thinking maybe I will get a little more wood brought in this morning. Don't think I'll be able to get at the wood pile for a week or two after today. Expecting 5"+, then rain and another deep freeze... I try to keep at least a half cord in the basement for the wood stove. (Which I haven't started yet today - just heard the oil burner fire to remind me). Usually let the inside pile run down this time of year, but we are going through it much more than normal.

Morning all. looks like we're getting it also. Calling for 12-16 by Sunday here, with a high of 16 deg. I need more coffee:coffee2:

Got the rapala walleye cup out this morning. Last day for walleye fishing tomorrow. Hoping to get out on the ice for a few hours this afternoon. Leighton and I are hanging out while mom and Ellanor are shopping. His first time eating raspberry jelly on toast. Loved it hahaha
