Stop in for a cup of coffee

-
Really depends on how much someone needs it, I gave mine to a member for a buildable core. 500?

I think Waffle House is on the brunch list today, along with a new coffee pot, the old one Skid Mark knocked over and broke last night! Rough to make the java this morning!

I don't have a waffle house here but I have heard good things about it..

I have IHOP ....they serve kangaroo meat there

Wish we had an IHOP close! Do you have Five Guys there? Awesome burgers and the fries are killer.

Waffle house is a southern thing, I am right about at the "northern" limit of them.

Just out of curiosity, how much can I sell a slant 6 + auto 904 for? The valves all looked pretty clean and we got it to turn over by jumping the starter relay.

The engine is pretty rusty on the outside though, I'm afraid that will affect the value for some people.

personally, I have never spent more than a hundred bucks on a running slant.

I would think the trans is worth more in parts because that is a good valve body to put in a 727 so it will downshift coming to rolling stop.

Some people will buy a slant like me but its a narrow market....few of us will actually run one. I have a slanty duster I am fixin to keep a slant but not the usual.

I never heard of "five guys" till you just mentioned it .....I looked it up and there is apparently one about an hour away that I never knew existed.

Pricy but worth it, as long as your not allergic to peanuts, everything is fried in peanut oil and they give you a bag of them also!

Wow, those are both pretty different values..

I was hoping to use it + some cash to trade up to an old RV 440/ auto 727, how much cash do you think i would need to add on top?

Watch the 727 it might have a short tail shaft on it. Put it on graigs list for 500 OBO and see what happens!

You will have to get a driveshaft made anyhow so not really. Not sure about the rear trans mount location, Rani didn't you just pull one from a rv not long ago? I just did a /6 to 440 in mine and it was a motor from a boat!

Listen to him. ....I just realized your in PA.

I am in Colorado where rust is not an issue and there are a lot more old cars around driving the price down. .. out there in your area Is a different market.

Yea, I've been doing a ton of research into it. It would be my first motor swap and don't want to under estimate what all I need / what will work.

I used the Schumacher kit, but you can get away with just the mounts, made it pretty easy, I did a thread on it in the bb forum.

Back for another cup...

Awsome burgers. Not really that high $. Seems so if you compare to fast food. Actualy I think you pay almost as much if you get the better burgers, 'angus' or whatever, at mcdoodles. And, Five Guys is WAY better. I'm a peanut addict too, so that doesn't hurt.

I always knew you liked NUTS! Hey what would you pay for a slant? Just got brought up.

What rear do you have in it now?

Yup, the plan was in this order:

- Replace gas tank
- Run slant6 to make sure it's all good
- pull slant 6
- sand and paint bay (just going gloss black)
- new wiring harness
- Schumacher kit + torsion bars
- Install 440

I have the glass 7 1/4 right now. So i will need to upgrade that as well.

I used the PST 1.03 bars, worked great! Definitely do the bay, mine is coming out again to do it, kind of glad I did not do it before, had a lot of mods to do after it went in for routing and other mods so a lot of holes were drilled. Hey also change the oem bushings if they are original, much easier to do now.

I have a 8 1/4 and it seems to handle it well so far. REBUILD the tranny! Just blew mine and it was a used one I got with the motor.

Yeah, there will be a lot of refreshing going on. My goals are 440 in + front end relatively refreshed and body sanded by next spring.

If I had to have one... I dont think more than $100 each for engine and trans. If your lucky enough to find a buyer. There's too many around. Unless its recent rebuild, or some 'special' parts, maybe a bit more. But even then there's the 'who worked on it question'. I would be surprised If anyone took it as trade...
A pristine exhaust manifold is worth more than the rest of the block.
