Why do most of the car shops on Velocity work on the floor. Hoists aren't that expensive.
Because they can?

I know a few guys with shops that do a lot of their work on the floor even when their lifts are empty. They sometimes feel it's faster to just grab a floor jack or two and get to it rather than taking the time to get the car up on the lift.

They also seem to want to reserve the lifts for bigger jobs that will take more than a few hours to complete.

depending on what they're doing it makes sense. If youre welding in new pans or body panels, it's very tough to get the car sitting perfectly square on a lift. Also as one with a lift, there's somethings I wouldn't want to do with a vehicle lifted, especially on a two post lift. One being pulling an engine, or any other big job that results in weight balance shifting too much. Course that depends on the vehicle somewhat too. And any job that requires up and down work gets to be annoying lifting and lowering over and over.

I think we found why you went to Nam :poke::lol: can I go next?!

I said it before, and I'll say it again...

Your brain doesn't work right.
Have I ever said it did? I mean come on, my wife is laying in bed half asleep, half naked and I'm on the laptop browsing this site....

My daughter has renamed the dog "Sparky". He seems to respond to it, so I'm ok with it.

It must be something in the genes though, my wife renamed every animal I've ever owned including the cats I had for years before we lived together.

I got even with the wife when I told her if she didn't stop doing it, I was going to rename her...and introduce her to everyone as "Ethel"

I think it's a woman thing, my wife does that

Sounds like you could use a little more Dick in your life too.

Soooo back to regular scheduled programming. Tried the torch today, ran out of fuel trying to cut the lug nut off. I don't know if it was just the near zero temps or the wind or being low of gas or the type of metal of the lug nut, but I couldn't even get it to glow red. This with an oxy-act torch.
