Power goes out and house fills with smoke. But a good size ups will keep it running. Most use less than 200 watts.
Power outage here i grab my inverter and run a cord into house. Powers tv,satellite ,pellet stove and a lamp. On 1000 watts.
Im burning locally made pellets at 170/tonne (2400 lbs) but they are nowhere near as good as the quality store bought.
I prefer wood heat, pellets are better,load stove and let it go.
House is burning 60 lbs/24 hrs which is less than $5.00.
Furnace still runs,but way less.
 
It would work, but you need to reduce the ceiling height and use low speed blowers to recirculate the air and even out the temperature.

40x80 would be a stretch,3200 square feet is big. I heat my fairly well insulated garage 24x32,and today it was nasty when i brought a frozen vehicle in.
Just hard to gain heat on days like today. 0 degrees farenheit or warmer and it rocks though. I get shop toasty pretty quick.

That size building,you need the iron god. Giant propane tank converted to wood furnace. It took 8 foot long wood. Friends hangar was heated by wood for many years. It was a big building.

We've been wanting to add a wall and divide the thing up creating a service bay we can heat and cool
 
I wish I had one I just went for a couple arm loads of wood....Baby it is cold outside!!!

IDK why you would want to heat the entire space anyway unless you have people working in every corner of it. Just carve out a space within it that you choose to heat.

And a hell of a lot of pellets.
The convenience of a pellet stove certainly has it's appeal. It's a lot of work heating with wood. Especially if you get most of it free by cutting and splitting it yourself. It is good exercise though. Then you need to start the fire and work with it to keep it burning good. Takes a considerable amount of time. Was not here most of the day and didn't even light it today and probably won't bother now. Burning a little oil...

I'm cooking up some sweet Italian sausage to slice and add to alfredo sauce with spinach and serve over linguine. I might even do some garlic toast to go with it.

I hate the cold, but good food in the belly makes it a bit more tolerable. Something comforting in that.

Wife put a hunk of beef in the crock pot this morning. Cooked till ready to fall apart. Bust it up and add a little gravy. Keyser roll, slice of cheese and some hot peppers ...was frigggin good. Probably going back for another in a bit. :thumbsup:
