Stop in for a cup of coffee

Well, that was great fun!

Just spent the last 2 hours working in photoshop with my daughter to help her explore what she could do with her leaf image.

Turned out pretty cool!

She learning Photo Shop?
Starting to...it’s a new experience for her.

She got very excited when I said that my dream after I retire was to open a gallery and have her help me run it. I told her that she has the instincts and just needs to develop her skills and she can do everything I can and more. I told her that she can get good enough to sell her own work in the gallery if she wants to.

I never saw a 13 year old girl get so enthusiastic to want to do something.

She is a smart, sweet young lady. The sky is her limit. You and your wife, sorry I forgot her name, should be proud. Not easy raising children I know....

The wife is “Bets”...and yeah, my daughter is smart enough to do anything she sets her mind to. She’s a great kid and sweet as pie. Some lucky guy is going to have his hands full with her someday!

Man, I applaud you, I know I cannot fathom that day for my daughter, I'll be like the father from that Father of the Bride(my wife's favorite movie btw) and having a panic attack the first time she dates

Dave, how far away are you from retirement?

Ya I know, but really its going to change color before I take it out.

Gold, orange, no white....someone makes one I've seen them.
If it’s a paper filter, it can be dyed using food coloring in a water solution sprayed on the filter and then let dry. It will hold the color for the life of the filter. Just remember that it will dry lighter than the color of solution you spray.

Any color is possible, you just have to mix up what you want.

You can always rattle can them any color you want! might not breath too well tho.......Just the front!!:rofl:

I learned something from the fellow that used to build our desert racing motors. On the engine dyno, K&N filters made more horsepower dirty than they did clean. I had no reason to doubt Lee, he built VWs from the lowly 40 horse to mechanicaly injected open motors for desert racing. Numerous VW Midget motors for selected clients when the little "hair dryers" were popular/allowed.

I can actually confirm this. I worked for 3 years for a diesel performance shop here locally. Doing nothing but dyno tunes and installs. K&Ns and any oiled filters literally suck new out of the box. We would see Exhaust temps a good 100-200 degrees higher and resulting in as much as 15-20 hp drop versus when they were broke in. We concluded the oiled filters were oversaturated when new thus clogging the filter but as the engine sucked the oil out of the filters, they got better. So what we would do is take the air compressor at about 90 psi and blow the excess oils out of the filter. Seemed to work better. That and on certain forced induction engines, especially intake heated diesels, I highly advise against oiled filters. Had more than a couple catch fire in colder weather due to the oils from the filters.

Yep Tim and you have the same idea I do....thanks.

I have found the same to be true. The airflow across a “dirty” K&N seems to be more consistent and controlled than a clean one. I did tons of testing of various air filters in my SRT and found the K&N to work best after about 10 k miles. The old Fram Air Hog was best out of the box.

The big issue with the K&N filter is it does not filter well after the oil is gone!

I'll have to convey that to my dirt track racing friend. I think he runs a K&N. At least check to see if he is aware. I think I'll go watch the TQs at Bakersfield Speedway Saturday night. No racing here for the next two weeks because of the 2 day show they are running Memorial Day weekend. Hate to miss that show, but Grandpa duty calls in Phx, 2nd birthday thing. Maybe I'll take Birky to the dirt Late Model show at Arizona Speedway for her birthday

Also true. There's a very fine line. Which is why we stopped running oiled filters. We converted all of ours to run big rig air filters and not only picked up horsepower but lowered air temps as well. But it requires modifications to stuff one under the hood but they do very well
