it seems like the downside of a 318 is a small chamber head but if you put a 340/360 head wouldn't that kill the compression with a much bigger CC chamber.

Yep, the 302's are a efficient head with it's closed chamber. They are almost identical to the 273 heads chamber wise with bigger ports.
I caught that. Ever go back and visit? In my short visit I do not think I saw a car, maybe a few trucks and a million two wheelers of various sizes.

I recently realized my days of traveling are over. I saw a lot of places and was exposed to many cultures. Kind of pissed the wife off because our plan was to travel to all the places she wanted to. I told her grab the kid and go, but it would not be the same for her I guess. Probably a good thing a 33 tuuurrd st. Born and raised New Yorker in a foreign land, could turn out really bad.
is there a such thing as an exhaust too big for a small block ....is 2.5 inch exhaust system a good idea or smaller ....like 2 inch dual ?
2 1/4 is a good size for a stocker. 2 1/2 is good for a warmed over engine. I never liked 2". I don't like the sound.
I have 2.5 going on a stock 383 ....I am thinking now I should have gone 3 inch for a BB but its stock 70 specs.........to be seen how it will turn out LOL
