Morning Folks! Not a good start for me today.. Started the truck as usual, had a odd noise. It slowly started to quiet down but not fully. Thought maybe I was a bit low on power steering fluid. Decided to back the truck out of the garage and then it happened. The lights dimmed and the dash board lit up.. Damn it!!! That noise was the Alternator going out..
So I pulled it back into the garage. Im now in the house drinking coffee!! Going to go pull it in a few and wait until the parts stores open up. I hope its not a spendy one!

I plugged her in so it should start without issues. It took until about noon yesterday before it warmed up and was comfortable but I was so busy I didn't notice. lol
Dang, Hope the parts are reasonable and easy to replace. Do you have a garage with heat?

Its a 04 Durango. Already checked Rockauto and they are around $100-150. Not to bad! Locally Im sure they are a bit more. Yep good thing my garage is heated..

Usually for something like that, I go on Advance autos website. Get the discount and then go pick it up.
Yes, took a bit to figure it out. The hardest thing was the air tight enclosure but I found the casket at a surplus place here.

Little project I finished up the other day...
place I work maintenance at uses stainless on most stuff, so got a this welder a few weeks ago. Set up with SS wire and tri-gas mix. I'm not a 'welder', and never did stainless before, so needed something to practice on. Just like when I got my welder at home - first project was to build a cart. Just this one is all stainless. Came up with this from pieces laying around and some Harbor Freight wheels.
