What do you use to sand? ??
Last one I did was with a wire wheel on a drill because I have a compressor but not a very big and enduring one.
I put chemical stripper on it first and rinsed and dried to soften it up .... made a huge difference. I did that to a challenger but never finished because I can't find a non a/c heater box so I can modify the firewall before fresh paint goes on:???:

Get a Makita 4" grinder, way better than an air grinder and you can get cut off wheels, wire brushes ans flap type sanding disks for them. Probably the most used tool in my shop.

Hey Rani, just read your post again. All of those a bodies at the junk yard have the heater boxes in them. Does it have to be year/vehicle specific?
Well, I Glass blasted the car from the windshield forward to bare metal with a pot blaster and compressor. Then I hand painted Rust Bullet everywhere. Then I cut out some rust areas and replaced the left inner fender. Smoothed out the rust pits around the cowl. Sanded it all out with 180 on a da. Then I primed it with Nason High Build. Now sanding with 180 again. Then 320. Then more primer, and.... Repeat sanding . Main issue is sanding the firewall must be done by hand. Sooo many nooks and crannies. Gettin there Though !! LOL

I am not looking forward to doing that, no rust that I see though....

There was a 70 ish Challenger there pretty stripped, even the roof was gone. I can look inside it later this week when I go back up there to get the rears.
Second cup on it's way down this morning, Wow what a weekend around here, had a friend show up Friday for a class reunion (40 years) and we stayed up late at a friends shop playing a little music and catching up. I bet I slept 15 hours in the last 30 hours, I have got to get back on my walking time today and keep my lower back in shape.

Same here bro :cheers: It may be the driest day this week, I just set the water sprinkler out on my berries and when the sun makes it over a few tree's I will shut it down, I have way to many Oak trees for a big garden
but I do get to enjoy fresh fruit every 3rd or forth day :coffee2: It dose my hart good to see you posting my friend :color:
