Hammer a cheap old socket on....ha ha ha shade tree mechanic
I have a whole can of Chi cheeze sockets just for that purpose.
I cant do it no room, it is for a spider gear c clip shaft locking pin. It is just over t 40 torx, I think it is e-9 female torx, since my neighbor had an 8 to small and a 10 to big, Tried every socket I had and 7 mm is just a bit to large, 9/32 a touch to small. No room to get a needle nose vice grip in and the dam pin is hardened so I do not want to break it then the chunk is never coming out.
So do I just nothing will work. If I cannot find one I might tack a bolt on it and pray I don't weld it to the chunk, most of the ones I have done before were 5/16 but no the jeep had to use this thing...........I knew I was screwed when Beerenering did not work!
Time to make one maybe. Dremel tool and a hardened bolt. Ha ha you guys will really wonder about my mechanicin!

I think I have that socket. Used it on my Jeep Diff. I believe that it is 1/4 dr , so I had to use an adapter to 3/8 dr to get leverage.

This puppy. Different head I guess. Someone was in here in the past the rear cover had a lot of silicone in/on/around it

No it was a googlegogopic! I have a few dana 35's I am stripping for the disk brake parts and the track locks. Same as an 8 1/4
I have a set of the craftsman socket for rounded head bolts. I wonder if they would work. They are not the typical socket. tightens the more you turn it. fits several sizes. I wonder where you would get one....TOOL MAN MIKE! or offer Mitch a beer and venison and maybe he will bring his up.

I see. I thought it was kinda out of place for a guy to post a pic of his open rear end on this forum!
I have them also they are great but the "shoulder" is to wide, all that will fit in there is like a long 1/4 drive socket, 7 just fits but skips and I tried all the tricks I know of, cut welding rod in the corners of the socket, pounding it on with a bit of metal over the bolt head. throwing things at it, getting another brew still nothing!

Just might work. I bought a small set of those at Lowe's pretty cheap. They work well.
