Stop in for a cup of coffee

A golf day sounds kinda nice (with a frosty adult beverage or two). Don't believe that's in the cards anytime soon here tho. Enjoy tomorrow and stay in the AC today!

Thanks,Ben. My sons are taking me for Fathers day gift. And yes , we will be tipping some cold ones.

I'll stop by for a short b/4 a shower and getting the day going.

The closest my son and I get to a golf outing is putt-putt. I never got into the actual game, and he's only 10 so putt-putt is more his style. I hope you have a good time with your boys.

Hey, Karl! Just out of curiosity, what part of Detroit? My mom lives with my sister and her family in Allen Park.

The kid's grandparents live near the state fair grounds (8 Mile & Woodward). Less than a mile from there behind the cemetaries...

I used to live there also a couple of blocks away...

The motto for Orland Park is "Golf Center of the World"..

It's painted on all of the water towers around here.....

I'm only 7 miles from Cog Hill where they play the Western Open each year... They have 4 x 18 hole courses...

Get him out hitting "long balls"...

I started playing golf when I was a kid about 6 or 7. It's never too young to start getting the feel for hitting the ball...

Just got the oldest kid off to his job.

He's nervous about starting, I told him that it's normal and not to worry. Just do your best and go from there...

Lots of golf Karl. We have 5 18 hole courses in town and I don't even play. Do you golf? I don't have the time. Too busy here. LOL

I golfed when I was a kid, then I joined the company golf league when I was at the engine plant.

I'm not the greatest golfer, but I can get a good shot once in a while. I was the "B" flight guy on our team on the league, one year my partner and I won, the next year me and a different partner took second place... It was fun to go out and golf with the guys that we worked with, it helped get to know them better and get better cooperation from them at work...

I haven't picked up a club in 10 years, but still like to play...

I used to play every Tuesday in huge group. Like (40). Maybe 24-28 guys would show up. They E mailed you on Fridays to tell you where we are playing, and you must respond as your commitment. Played different courses every week. You show up, draw a card out of a deck to see who you are playing with. You play your round with your random foursome. Pay $10 for team bet. Skins optional. Everyone meets at the clubhouse , and they tally up the scorecards and pay out the winners. Like 10 categories. A few days later you get an Email, telling who was paid what ,and a pic of everyone's scorecard. They even kept your handicap for you. Most of these guys were a lot older than me and retired. The group got so big and the guy that was doing all the work asked someone to take the responsibility or help out. No one stepped up and the group dissolved. What a shame. It was easy to commit to every Tuesday when you knew it was automatic. Now I just play once in a while. Maybe 6 times a year. My handicap is 16.

Morning folks. Use to golf a lot back in the 80's. Got to where I was shooting a few rounds in the mid to high 80's. Shot a 39 in nine holes one time.
Don't golf much anymore the course I use to play on for $11 is now $28 and it is basically the same except the price.
But hoping that when I'm done with treatments I might be able to get back out there for the exercise.

We had a course near the engine plant that had three 9 hole courses. We would alternate courses each week, so we would play each one every three weeks...

the guys at work put out the sheets for who scored what last week and who is playing who this week. They kept track of our handicaps. I was abut a 46 on a 9 hole course. We had a few guys at 36 - 38.

We would also meet in the club house and order food and drinks afterwards from Candy (the waitress). Anyone who worked at the plant could join, and we had current workers and a crew of retirees playing.

Some guys would show up to sub in case someone missed. It got to be so common, they started charging the subs for the round as many were getting away with playing a round for free. Instead of signing up for the league, they would just show up and take the free spot. Some guys would do this almost all summer.

It was fun getting to know the guys in a setting outside of work. Then they were more cooperative at work when we needed to work with them...

You guys will shake your heads, I live on a golf course, and make my living because of golfers, but have never played. I have a lazy eye so I don't have any depth perception. I've never seen anything in 3D.

I do enjoy golf for the peace and quiet and all the wildlife out here.

Good Morning. I golf with a blind man and I usually win so I must be pretty good.

Good Morning !! I Golf with my Sons today !! Beautiful here after the front came through last night. High of 88 low humidity
