More depending on the engine.

350 Horsepower. . . .. V8-440 4 Barrel 440 9.7 350 @ 4400 480 @ 2800
375 Horsepower. . . .. V8-440 4 Barre 440 9.7 375 @ 4600 480 @ 3200
390 Horsepower. . . .. V8-440 Three 2 Bar. 440 10.5 390 @ 4700 490 @ 3200

Compression ratio (9.7 or 10.5) Horse power @ rpm and torque @ rpm. Charts don't copy and paste well.

How are rows 1 and 2 different? Should comp on row 2 be 10.5?

Did they only come on 440's? I know I could google all this but it's so impersonal. :)

Back wet and cold. Well I might have coffeenered the Tikey trucks exhaust this morning dropped the y pipe and back flushed the system with a garden hoes. Runs much better! LMAO! Talk about being frugal!

Love your "musings"! Im just lurking. I was at fall Fling last weekend, was dissapointed with A body representation.

He was looking to buy a 64 Belevedere 426 max wedge Numbers car. Beautiful car. Owner would not sell!! Rare color combo.

What's the deal with sixpacks, anyway? Are they just for looks or do they actually perform better than, say, a dual 4bbl or a single bigger 4bbl?

heck yea it makes a difference ....going from 850 to like 1050 CFM

I had 6 bbl on a 340 before and my friend has one on a 440.

On the 340 the extra air flow was noticeable on the top end and the 440 is just violent, I have yet to push the 440 because I chicken out wayyyy before the engine does.

On the 340 its a welcomed upgrade because the 340 not as great of engine as people sit around saying it is. Nothing will ever out torque and over run a big block.

So there are six pack intakes for SB and BB? Were they produced for the small blocks originally, too?

WHat I'm having a hard time figuring out is how they're configured. I mean, three runners for four cylinders. Or do all three (or six even?) barrels feed the same plenum?

yes, they made a 340 and a 440 six pack or six barrel depending on car line.

If it was in a dodge then its a six pack but if it was in a Plymouth then it was a six barrel.

it runs the center just like a 2 BBL. carb only the center has a choke and the whole bit like a regular 2 bbl. as you get on it, the others open progressively, unless its a later set up that is vacuum actuated. So if you go real easy on it then you essentially run a 440 or 340 2 bbl. If you have the nerve to go six wide open on a 440 then you are a brave person. .....more so than i.

The six pack intakes are still available new from edelbrock and maybe Mopar Performance.

They are a dual plane intake, and work like Rani said above...

Well that clears it all up for me. Thanks, you two!

My daughter Anna (13 in a couple of weeks) threw a Halloween party with her best friend and ten or so of their classmates tonight. They arranged the whole thing themselves, something I can't remember doing until at least five years later. We're down to two guests now, watching YouTube.

My wife and I just finished watching Ocean's Eleven with our son, almost 11. He liked it, dead tired as he was (it's 11 PM here).

Good morning all!

Had a busy Saturday.... I was out at a friends, towed him to his workshop after stranded next to the road, flooded his '41 Chebby truck. All original...bar 12V, tailgate and the addition of disc brakes up front.

Got a call from my son's girlfriend who stayed home....my wife has a burning sensation in her left leg and neck! Rushed home to take her to Emergency unit at Hospital. Two hours of tests and a drip later, back home....no definite diagnosis! She is much better this morning O:).

Then had to go look at a 454 BBC for a friend from out of town he wants to buy....an hours drive from me. Needless to say, I did not get to tinker on my Charger/Demon...:banghead:

I have a Sunday cruise planned in the Monaco this morning, couple kilometers in the old girl is therapy. (I'll be 10 to 15 below limit Rani :thumblef: Lol)

Ters.
