Stop in for a cup of coffee

-
Just poured me a cup of Joe, you have a good nights rest SLS.

Yeah, teen years. :(

My daughter is 11 now and I already see the cracks showing. I try to make a point of checking her homework every night. If it doesn't pass me, it doesn't get passed in.

I know I will have to become even more vigilant as time goes on. I really don't want a second job of being her at home teacher...but I know that I have to if I have any hope of getting her to toe the line.

I absolutely must teach her that I am far more patient, vigilant and enduring than she can possibly imagine. I must be the rock that will not be moved. One sign of weakness and she will take full advantage. It's what teenagers do (it's what I did) and I cannot let anything slide...not even an inch.

The advantage I have is that I was a teenager before...she's just doing it for the first time. If I could think it up, so will she. I just need to cut her off at the pass before she even knows I'm there.

It's a battle (friendly one maybe) but it's serious business. I feel that I have to focus on it with all the capability I have just like I would building a multi-million dollar manufacturing plant at work. My reputation and future is on the line...because it's all hers.

Well said!

I get what your saying, what I dont get is I dont recall acting like that. I was deathly afraid of my parents if I didnt get my homework turned in, or I lied to them. She just gets mad at us... Oh and she is a terrible liar.

She just switched schools and has a much better attitude about life and her school work in general. She was doing so good and BAM this past week she just didnt care! Pretty sure its the hormones, girl hormones at that! AHHHHHHHHHHH

She can be flakey. You just be steady. It'll come your way.

Hey there Memi... cup of joe in evening is sometimes perfect..
Yea :coffee2: tonight it is anyway Ben, we have a gun man at large just 2 miles away and JPD has a few men and ladies looking for him now.
I have my 9mm and Buddy at my side and the tv turned down with a window cracked open.

Be safe there Mike. And take no unnecessary risks. Protect you and yours and let JPD do their stuff. Good call keeping Buddy close by.

Oh you can count on that, Buddy has his ears and eyes open and can feel my concern.
It's times like this we are proud to pay for good dog food and take extra care/spoil him rotten.

The furry ones are the best! They know stuff. Even when we don't have a clue. Be safe..

Well guys, time to sign off. Gotta pull the computer stuff apart for the move tomorrow.

If all goes well, I'll be back on line Monday evening.

See ya on the flip side! :coffee2:

Wow Mike, that's got to be a big relief.

Quiet night here...

I found an old family photo in my Dad's things, from around 1910, everyone gathered in a photographer's parlor, stiff and unsmiling, brothers standing, wives seated, all surrounding the matriarch whose husband ran off years before. It's interesting to see my Grandpa at 8 years old.

Thankfully a distant cousin compiled a whole family history which enabled me to sit down tonight and figure out who was who in the photo and when they were born. Now to track down their descendants who might never have seen any photos of their great-grandparents.

I'm thinking my Dad gave us a much easier life raising us in Florida instead of New York State.

I hear ya - went from doing stuff to Ben running for president to SLS having daughter issues... and bad guys running around in M2's neighborhood.. furious circles..
